Village North is an excellent retirement community. I have lived here since November 2021. The staff is very accomodating and responsive. The food is very good, and there is a very good variety to choose from. The only drawback is you have to give four months notice if you have to leave for any reason other than a medical one. This is rather excessive compared to other retirement communities.

My mother is staying at Village North Retirement Community, and the experience is great so far. The staff and apartment or room is great. Her room is spacious and has all the accommodations that my mother would need so it's fine. It's got all the appliances and she had to bring her furniture (like the bed, and couch). The food is okay, and she gets 3 meals a day. Sometimes she doesn't eat the meal because she'll eat what's in her refrigerator; so I'll eat the meal, and they're okay. They've got a game day, chapel on Sundays, bingo, a happy hour, and barbecue. The living atmosphere is fine. You walk in and the place is nice and clean; you don't smell any odors so I think it's nice. The value for the money is there. She's been there for about a year or two.

My experience with Village North Retirement Community has been fantastic. I have a very nice apartment, they take good care of it. It's a very nice, peaceful community. The staff is OK. There's a few things they're lacking on, but overall they're really good. Their amenities are fantastic. I have a washer and dryer, but I don't really need it because I'm so close to the laundromat. It's well taken care of, and it's a nice community. There are plenty of activities like bingo, happy hour, and a community forum or talk. So it's nice. Their outdoor spaces are very nice, there's quite a bit of ground, and they keep it clean. They have fishing. I feel that it could be a little cheaper.

Have been a resident for almost 2 years, services are not as advertised. For an independent community there a too many residents that should be in a more care facility. Bethesda allows familys to put family members here that require more assistance and supervision, its affects the quality of life for those residents that wanted a quiet, safe independent home. The dining service has recently changed to Unidine and is honestly the worst prepared food I've experienced in my life and that includes chow hall food. Not the options we were promised or the quality, the dining is part of our rent and we should be given a refund for the food we have been served and offered a rent discount to opt out of this garbage and service. Also if you budget for not having to pay for television service you will also be severely dissappointed. It advertises over 40 channels it just doesn't tell you that they are analog quality. You might as well have rabbit ears with tin foil on them. This is shameful tv service and it will cost you regular cable and internet charges for your apartment to have any quality tv and internet service. Weekly housekeepers need to use dust spray with actual dust cloths instead of useless swifters. Also need to use cleaning products that will actually remove soapfilm and dirt. Maybe even sweep a floor before and use a real mop not a swifter, housekeeping is pitiful, most residents won't use it because of this. You definitely do not get your moneys worth at Village North Retirement, and its not like you can easily decide to move elsewhere. We gave up our homes in hopes of this being our final home, sadly dissappointed.

I stayed in Village North. The experience was good. It was a nice place; however, I felt I wasn't old enough to be there. The staff was great. They had a problem maintaining staff, but the ones whowere there were good people. I moved in about two years ago, and the food and the portions were very good, but then they cut down on the portions and started limiting the type of food they gave you, so I wasn't very happy. They had activities that were not my cup of tea.

We place my father at Village North. Economically, it fits his budget as it is close to family. The staff is very good. In fact, they do not take any patients without interviewing them first a couple of times. They want to make sure that it is his decision and not the family's. I am very pleased with their work ethics. I will absolutely recommend it to others. However, the food can be a little better.

It was very nice. All of the other places force you to buy their meals plans -- that's three meals a day -- and Village North does not. They offer you the option where you do not have to buy all of the meals, and they have a full kitchen. That makes a huge difference.
