The staff claims they lost my mom's paperwork and were unable to get it to the social worker to confirm visits, so visiting my mom was next to impossible. When I visited - In the morning (9:30am), I found my mom slumped in bed with oatmeal on her face and neck, and still wearing her night gown. I helped her get dressed. While visiting, a nurse came in and explained that my mom was in too much pain earlier to get changed.
Later in the day (2:30pm), my sister visited, and my mom had not received her pain medication or any lunch. When my sister found a nurse and demanded that my mom receive her meds, the nurse said she was offered them and refused.
When I called that same night after talking with my sister, I asked my mom if she had lunch or dinner. She said, "I order too much food. It's my responsibility to eat it all." I asked several more times if any food had been brought - she said, "I know I ordered some. But I'm not hungry."
When I asked about her pain meds, she said, "It's my responsibility to ask for my medications."

Totally disappointed with the lack of care my father was given. When my Mom got him out of there he had Stage 4 bedsores, even on his ankles! His blood sugar was through the roof and hadn't been checked in ages. To make matters worse she had asked repeatedly about his condition and was repeatedly told they had everything under control. Stage 4 pressure ulcers do not occur overnight! Pretty pictures on the walls do not make up for ignoring the health care of residents. Mom thought she was getting him the best, instead he got the worst at double the cost!
