Administration is very unprofessional. Decisions are based upon heresay not medical records. Very, very rude, hateful and uncompassionate. Patients soil themselves because staffing takes too long to get them to the bathroom. Personal items are frequently lost. Rooms are drab and uninviting. Food looks terrible. I would 2nd guess serving it to my dog. Very understaffed. Patients left in entry foyer, all day, every day. Can't express the unprofessionalism enough but you will get a good idea the moment you step through the entrance. The majority of nurses are very nice and caring but overworked. So disappointed overall.

I can not show my appreciation enough for what this facility did for my Uncle throughout the long Covid battle. it is truly amazing how they went above and beyond the call of duty! I am so thankful that he is still alive and well and received the best care i could have asked for. thank you to the entire staff and especially to the Administrator and Head Nurse! Anne and her team are the best!

My friend has been here for about a year-and-a-half and I have seen nothing but good from the staff here. Even the young guys who work in the kitchen. Time and time again I have been in her room and the staff has not known I am there when they poke their head in asking her if she needs something. When they do this they are always kind and polite and patient with her. They also offer a number of varying activities each day and go out of their way to get my friend involved which has Been a help to her. Occasionally there might be a urine smell in the hall but I figure that is to be expected when dealing with so many older folks and their bodies breaking down and wearing out. But even at that, the smell doesn't linger, so I am assuming it is dealt with and/or cleaned up. I would think for the most part this would be a thankless job and yet the staff still seem to truly care. I can only hope that when I come to the age where I have to enter a nursing home that golden years will still be going strong.

My sister was in the rehab unit of Golden Years last year, and she couldn't have been treated better. It's an older facility, but the rehab people were terrific, the staff was great, and I can't praise them enough. She was treated very well, and I was treated with great respect. They always have activities in the main hall, they have card games, they have puzzles all the time, and they have a wonderful library. The food need a little improvement, they have several dining facilities, and they're all very nice; the staff couldn't be better, and they were there all the time.

My father is in the worst nursing home there is. It's Golden Years nursing home. It smells really bad, and he falls out of bed because they don't have bedrails on him when they are supposed to. They have Bingo once in a while, and that is it. He usually gets lunch meat sandwiches; there is not a cook on staff on the weekends, the food is always cold, and it's a lot of carbohydrates. They are understaffed, and the LPNN nurses see him on average of two-minutes through a 24-hour period of time. My dad's got mice in his room; I have seen them. And when my mom was in there, there were mice in her room too. It is graded the lowest nursing home in Harrisonville. They have no security. You can walk in 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Many of the staff were nice, but as is customary in this field, they were overworked resulting in substandard care. Upon entering the facility, you are immediately greeted with the overwhelming smell of urine. They offer several family functions each year, such as Thanksgiving dinners for relatives to join the residents, which are intended to encourage families to visit. But I think it has an adverse effect. I feel that a urine smell that strong is indicative of mass neglect, and all I can wonder is if my loved one is among the wet and unchanged...
