About This Community

To us at River Mist - assisted living by Americare in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, assisted living means two things: you do the living and we help you live. Our personal assistants provide what you need when you need it. Here, the emphasis is less on paperwork and more on people. Our licensed nurse and certified medication aides get to know our residents like family, with all of their unique needs and preferences. It's like home.

Dining is a focal point of our residents' day at River Mist - assisted living by Americare. It starts with an open breakfast with eggs just the way you like them. We accommodate our early risers ready for toast and coffee as well as those who can't start the day without a big hot breakfast. Comfort foods, foods familiar and favorite, are part of our menu.

Our admission counseling services are comprehensive. Our administrator helps guide the family through all of the care options available to them as well as through the maze of paperwork involved with accessing our public long term care benefits. Mom is moving into River Mist Senior Living. It's beautiful, clean, and very professional. I liked everything about it. The staffers were very, very helpful. I didn't have to do anything, the pretty much helped me from start to finish. The facility has just been newly updated, the decor is fresh, it looks really, really nice. The location is right in the center of town, it's very accommodating, and it's in a good part of town, the better neighborhood.

Small, clean, homelike atmosphere that caters to the residents. Everyone is very friendly and personable. They treat us like family. Staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and was very hospitable. They even let my Mother have her dog. Meals look very appetizing and if my Mother does not like the main course they have an alternative menu to chose from. I also like how medications are locked in my Mother's room and administered by the staff at appropriate times. This helps us rest assured that medications are given properly.
