My mother had been there for over 10 years and I was very satisfied up until the last 2, beginning with the social worker who never returned my calls and was angry that I sat on hold for 2 hours one day waiting to speak with her rather than leave a 5th message.
I will not even go into how poor her care was this past year, but the last 6 weeks of her life she was treated worse than an animal. I would walk in to her room and find her hanging off her bed, covered in vomit, filthy towels that she had been vomiting in all around her. They literally gave her towels to throw up in rather than a bedpan then just shut her door and ignored her. They also stopped bringing her food because they said she wouldn't eat it anyway, and getting them to give her her medications was almost impossible.
When she died in October not one person called to offer condolences. When I called to go pick up her belongings I was told that they had boxed everything up and I could pick them up. I went through the boxes while I was there and most of the contents were not hers. In one of the boxes they had actually put the cremated remains of another resident's loved one in it. I still have not, nor do I expect to recover her belongings, but I sincerely hope the other family regains possession of their loved one's remains.

My husband was in Nhc Healthcare, Town & Country for a couple of weeks. We had a couple of issues, but they took care of it so he was not falling. They had to provide a sitter 24 hours a day, and I was not charged for that. There was some mix up with his medications. I finally got to see him after a couple of weeks, and he looks good. They were in really good contact with me, and the social worker was wonderful. I got to go in one time, and I thought that the physical facility was very nice.

The rooms at NHC HealthCare were nice, and I liked them. I only met the person who gave us the tour. She was nice, and the dining area was nice. The grounds were lovely, and I liked it a lot.

This is one of the worst places. I had a family member there that I feel had substandard care resulting in numerous life threatening infections. They also had some very poor accounting with the social security money that was meant for the resident. The upper management very unprofessional including the resent administrator.
