I went to The Fountains at Greenbriar for an overnight stay, just to see how you liked it. The facility was nice. They had you in a bedroom and a living room. It was a nice little apartment. It had a couch, a chair, and a bed. They have activities and an activities director. They have a lot of stuff going on. It's a very busy place. It had a salon and a bar. It just wasn't for me. It was too expensive for what it was. The staff was pleasant and friendly. The food was more like restaurant style. You have a menu you pick your meals from, and you have a choice of two or three things. They have a courtyard, patios, and balconies. The outdoors was spacious.

The Fountains at Greenbriar was a very nice place. It's old and they didn't have a personal washer-dryer or a dishwasher. The people that I came in contact with were very nice though and the food was always good (I've been there several times). I have known people that stayed there and it's always nice and clean. They have a full calendar of activities including exercise classes, games, and a vehicle that takes you on trips or to doctor's appointments.

My sister lives at The Fountains at Greenbriar. They check in on the people that live there every day. They provide meals and transportation for their doctor's appointments most of the time. Yesterday we took her, but most of the time they do. They do light housekeeping. She likes it there for the most part.
The main thing that is bad for the people who live there is that they raise their rates every year. They're on fixed incomes and their income doesn't rise every year, so that really hurts them. Sometimes with transportation, they've got a lot of people to transport; it's kind of tough. That's why sometimes we have to help her out on certain things in certain days they can't go or whatever. The transportation is fairly good, but not perfect.
Everybody there seems to be friendly and pretty professional. My sister is extremely picky with the food. I had Thanksgiving dinner there the other night, and it was very good. On the day-to-day basis, I would say the food is a 3 from her opinion. The facility itself is good. COVID kind of did away with a lot of activities, but they're starting to do some stuff now. They have a thrift store. The bad part about it is that they raise the rates every year, no matter what. I think, kind of bad for the people there.

We toured The Fountains at Greenbriar. It's not a good fit for us because every single need -- every time that you need the staff -- it is another charge, so if you need help getting your socks on, for example, it's $7.50. If you need help with the shower, it's ten dollars. And so we were kind of nervous. What if my aunt called them ten times in one day and then it was like two-hundred dollars? Everything that you need help with is more money. It's independent living, not assisted living, and so we kind of got nervous that maybe we needed more medical care than what they could provide. Those rooms are very small, too, like the smallest I've ever seen. The kitchen is not not a workable arrangement.
We really only talked to one lady. She was great. She was the director, or whoever is responsible for getting new families in there. Some parts of it seemed outdated, like they just put fresh paint on something outdated instead of making it look new. They were serving their residents alcohol, so I thought it was pretty cool. It was cocktail hour when we were there, so I thought that was amazing. They do transportation; you just have to schedule it in advance. They have a theater and a library. That one is the absolute closest to my mom, and my mom wants to be close to her sister. Also, my aunt said a lady from church lives there, so if her friends from church say The Fountains at Greenbriar is nice, we thought maybe we should take a look at it.

I visited The Fountains. The outside was nice. The staff was very nice. It had a beauty shop for sure. It's been a little while ago. It had group activities. It was a couple of months ago that I visited. We did have a lunch and the food was good; it was simple but good. I don't have anything negative. It didn't strike me in a negative way at all. It felt homey.

Fountains at Greenbriar was okay, but the person that showed us around was overdoing it to impress us, and said something derogatory. We also found out that they didnt have assisted living, so I didnt think about going there. It was big enough for the type of place I was looking for, the halls were big, and I liked it. We had lunch there and the dining room was comfortable. They played bingo, toss ball, and exercise. The outside area seemed to be neat and well taken care of.

Greenbriar did not have an available two-bedroom, but the occupied room we saw was nice. They served three meals a day.

Mom seems to like the food at The Fountains at Greenbriar. It is restaurant-style where you select from a menu and the serving is more than she could eat. Mom is in one of the smallest rooms with a kitchenette, and she could roll her wheelchair to the kitchenette and to the bathroom. The place is very clean with neutral colors. She had a couple of pictures, and they hung those for her. The staff is very attentive and very good. The people that I've met has been really surprised at how the staff knows everybody's name. This place is all independent although you can get some assistance from interim health care there.

The Fountains at Greenbriar is independent living. It's very neat and clean. Employees and staff were extraordinarily kind and patient. This apartment is in a community that also had assisted living, and it's closer to some friends of mine, which is good because I'm not driving anymore. They have lots of things to do scheduled. They have nice, small apartments, but if you're in your 60s and you're single, you don't need much space. It's also nice and quiet there. The staff is wonderful. Each one I have dealt with has been very polite. One of the managers calls me at least once a week to see how my surgery process is, so we've established a decent relationship.

1st there is a $1995 fee that goes to nothing just to live there. They make it sound like this is the 1st month rent. And there are two meals provided but one is called the free meal which is the breakfast. But all in all this is a very nice place and the food is great. The rent is 1395 on the 3rd floor small 1 bedroom to 1995 on floor 1 and 2 which are larger. This is mainly independent living not assisted. Some assistance is provided for a fee but through St. Joe Health care, which is really hard to get ahold of. Most of the time you call and leave a message. They may or may not get back with you. This is not for a person who really needs assistance. They give medication reminders - but they do not despense medication. They will take you to the dining room but if you don't want to go they will not force you. This is more for independent living not assisted living. But this place is very nice and well kept. Friendly people. Decent bargain.

My Mother and Father in Law lived there for less than a year. They were not happy there, maily saying that it was hard to make new friends, lots of "Cliques". The final straw for our family was this: They gave written 60 day notice as required on January 1st. Because it was a holiday, and no Manager could be located, they posted the written notice on the Manager's door. This week we noticed that they had been charged an extra 3 days rent because the Manager didn't see the written notice until January 3rd. YMMV, but we wore not happy with this.

The fountains have a good location and reputation. My mother in law had been there for a while two years ago, so I was familiar with the location. It’s a great, fantastic facility, and my mother feels very secure and comfortable there. Communication has been great; they provide alert necklaces, and she was able to push that button to get someone there to her apartment within two minutes when she fell a week and a half ago.

We like all the activities they have at The Fountains at Greenbriar. They were just upbeat. My parents have a one-bedroom apartment that has a full kitchen, bathroom, walk-in shower, living room and a patio outside. I know they go on a lot of trips, but my parents are older and have not cared about going into anything right now. My mom has talked about the trips they have taken every week. I know they have Bingo and other activities going on. They said the food has been good.

The Fountains was very nice. Among the ones that I visited, it was my favorite. It liked the airiness and the arraignment of the place. I liked that the room had a kitchen area with a stove.

We chose The Fountains because it met mom's needs in terms of the apartment size, the cost and the meal arrangements. Everything worked really well for her. She's been living there for six weeks. We liked the facility and the people there. They had tons of activities but that's not mom's interest. We couldn't ask for more with the staff, we're really well pleased. They did a great job of maintaining the place and she liked it there.

The staff could have been a bit more attentive to the resident's needs. The facilities were in good order and the activities available to residents were numerous.
