I was able to tour the Anthology of Clayton View. It was super nice. There's a professional gentleman there and he showed me everything. They had all the things that I was looking for with my wife. I only talked to the guy that gave the tour, and that was just a person that was on the floor walking around. He was friendly and said, 'Welcome. Hope you come here. We have great care.' They were probably OK. The facility was probably the newer of any one of the places. Their price was higher than everyone else. It was nice for my wife.

My mother moved into Anthology of Clayton View. Mom enjoyed the conversations when we were there among the staff and also the other residents. I think that's what made up our mind that she would be comfortable there and that she would like the other people in the community. Plus, a good deciding factor was they weren't going to take all of Mom's assets. They were gonna just work with her long-term care policy. She'll be able to leave money to her children and grandchildren and great grandchildren, and that's the way she wanted it. It allowed us to still put her in there and still honor her wishes. Her room has a rather large bathroom, good size bedroom, and a little kitchen area. The bedroom is big enough for a large bed with a dresser. It was kinda crowded, I think, but my mom doesn't have a whole lot of belongings; she has a twin bed, a dresser, and a few chairs. The day she moved in they treated us to lunch, and they were serving beef potpie and chocolate cake. My mom didn't want to eat it because it didn't look like any beef pie that we had ever eaten. It was upscale and she wasn't used to it because it didn't look like she thought it should look, but it was very good. They had exercise and music therapy, and the day we went up there and visited, some of the people sat in when we were seeing what they can do on the TV there. It's like having a big tablet. You can do everything you can do on the TV, and I've never seen that before. They said they have the same ability to do that in the rooms privately if they want to spend time in their room. My mom's not really hip on technology, but maybe she'll start learning, and that we can have phone visits via her tablet.
