We placed my mom at Eventide on Eighth Care Center. It is an excellent place. The staff is good at answering the phone, you don't get a machine, they return my calls, and they are very pleasant and very welcoming. They seem to care about my mother and they seem experienced, and they are very helpful with what we need. My mom's room is small but we had it decorated nicely, so it's just perfect for her. The food is fine. There's a movie theater, a library, a little grill if visitors want something to eat, and there's an outdoor space.

One of the things that was so amazing to me about Eventide is how they get all the people to the lunch room at a certain time to eat, and that's a lot of people. The staff just takes care of their residents in a very efficient manner and they're doing a good job taking care of my father. I've never seen anybody at Eventide treat people without being kind, respectful, and courteous to individuals, no matter how disgusting the situation might be. It's not the newest or the nicest place, but I truly believe that the staff treats the residents with kindness. One comment that I have is that my father is a diabetic and they don't have a diabetic menu, although my family members can make choices about what he can and cannot have. Also, it seems that there isn't anybody who knows how to do everything in there, and there's no orientation where people sit down and are told how to do things.

I visited Eventide in Moorhead, MN when I sang for the residents with a group of other students from my college. It was a very nice facility! My parents said they would love to live there when they can no longer live in their own home. It was very big, and I believe there were at least two different wings depending on the type of care needed for the residents. Eventide seems to be a very safe place for the residents. It is in a nice neighborhood, and all of the entrances are secured unless you have the key. When I visited, I went to the wrong door where I was intending to meet someone that would let me in, so I could not get in until we figured out how to connect again. No need to worry about strangers walking around Eventide! It is also very nice that they plan activities and have groups come in to entertain the residents. I could tell that they were very happy to have us students come and sing to them. I would definitely recommend Eventide! It seems like a very happy, clean, friendly place to live.
