Elk Ridge's building has been designed to exclusively serve residents with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. The community architecture and decor are based on dementia research and purpose-built to optimize resident's perception and cognition. A secure environment that promotes a feeling of safety and comfort which encourages social engagement.

The liveliness of the clients or residents seems to be very good. The staff seemed to know them very well and they were also caring. The building was newer and warm, and also very clean. They seem to have a lot of activities for the residents, planned throughout the day. They also have a courtyard in the middle that blocks anyone from leaving the premises and they lock on the doors so it's good security.
