Terrible place for a loved one to be at. Had to repeatedly ask for them to give proper basic hygiene....several occasions oxygen was not turned on and suction machine was not were it could be reached or used by resident. Dirty depends on floor for hours. Improper suctionung and care of trach.

We had arranged for my husband to go to Laurels Peak. I was impressed with the staff becuase they were so nice and helpful, and they had a music therapist, which is wonderful for people that have dementia because that is one of the last senses to go. They make it so much fun. My husband has always been a singer and loves to sing. We just couldn't let him stay there because he tries to get out, and they don't have the doors locked there. I would recommend it for someone that doesn't have dementia. It would be a great place. It just wouldn't work for my husband because the facility isn't set up for someone with dementia who tries to leave. If he was in a wheelchair, it would be no problem but he can walk, and they couldn't watch him every minute.
