Mala Strana Assisted Living and Rehabilitation Center is located in New Prague, Minnesota, approximately 50 minutes from Minneapolis. The small city of just over 8,000 residents is home to several parks, including Southside Park and Greenway Park, as well as the New Prague Golf Club, making it ideal for those who enjoy green spaces. Set about two minutes from the Mayo Clinic Health System Hospital, the facility is also minutes from churches, banks, the post office, restaurants and the New Prague Library.

The Mala Strana Assisted Living and Rehabilitation Center is a continuum of care community that offers assisted living, hospice care, short-term rehabilitation, respite care, memory care and long-term care. Staff tend to the daily needs and safety of residents, including assisting with bathing and grooming. An emergency response system is available, as are therapy services, that include aquatic and pet therapy.

There are 34 apartments available for assisted living residents at the Mala Strana Assisted Living and Rehabilitation Center, and residents of the memory care program are part of the community's secure Little Village. When on campus, residents can participate in activities such as watching birds on the patio, taking an exercise class or getting their hair done at the beauty salon/ barber shop. The campus is tobacco-free.

My mother-in-law is a resident of Mala Strana, and it's a very nice place. Her room is pretty spacious and very clean. They have activities like bingo and so on. Some of the amenities include a salon and so on. The staff is pretty friendly, and they are very oriented towards Czech people since there's a big Czech community here in town.

We liked Mala Strana as well. Someone met us at the doorway who had her mother in there currently. She introduced us to some of the staff that’s working with her family, and they couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful. The facility isn’t as new inside. It looks very lovely on the outside, but some of the stuff is a little worn. But in our situation, that wouldn’t matter because the person who would be using it wouldn’t notice. We had gone into places that were too pristine and too beautiful that they were uncomfortable,so this one had more of a comfortable live-in feeling, but we really liked the space. We weren’t able to get into the room, so we don’t know what the rooms are like, but the facility itself, we like. It was a comfortable space with a lot of activities, which for our situation is kind of a necessary thing. It’s good to have people moving around and doing things because it’s more like a family feeling.

The doors were locked at Mala Strana Assisted Living, so the residents cannot wander off. I understand that, but for some reason I felt closed in. The staff was accommodating. The rooms were clean, nicely arranged, and adequate.

Great care and love goes into this nursing home. My mother is well taken care of by all employed here. The residents are continuously greeted by name of all who work here. It makes them all feel special and loved.
