My Mom was neglected, disrespected, these "nurses" are uncaring, unkind, lack empathy. Please do not allow a loved one to be sent here. Had I not pushed for 911 to be called they were going to "monitor " her vomiting, which turned out to be a bowel blockage.

When my father was staying a this facility, someone called my mother at their home and told her he had died. He had not died. They have been married nearly 70 years. No answer to my inquiry as to how this could happen. Can you imagine??

PROFOUNDLY HEARTSICK

Yesterday was my first on-site visit to this facility, which was beyond imaginable (and that's not a compliment). Yesterday I was notified that my 60-year old, [now] critically-ill friend has "lived" and I use the term, "lived," rather loosely, of course, in this deplorable facility for the past several months. Walking into the facility there was a immediate and overpowering smell of urine, which only worsened as I walked through the facility. The care, or lack thereof, was truly frightening and beyond imaginable. Three (3) hours lapsed absent any check-in for any reason. I rang the call-button and ... no response for more than five (5) minutes. I actually had to walk outside the room and beg for assistance. The staff members arrived and it was readily apparent this site lacks adequate staffing. Under-staffing was (and continues to be) the beginning of what is an obvious nightmare for this resident. I am not in a [legal] position to remove this resident from the facility and despite another [non-family] beseeching the patient's family members (mother and 3 brothers) to do so, they continue to refuse to allow their family member to be moved to another facility. The mother and 3 brothers have the financial resources but lack the will, compassion, and concern to allow a higher level of care for their family member. Individually and collectively, the family members continue to look away and appear to be waiting for the end-of-life for their critically ill-family member. SHAMEFUL. The ONE AND ONLY saving grace in this facility is the Spiritual Care Director who is a Godsend to the patients and others, including me, and she is the quintessential definition of excellence in every regard.

My mother is in Benedictine Health Center Innsbruck. It has short-term care, a memory unit, and the ability to do nursing as well as taking somebody out of the bed and getting them into a wheelchair, so some of the rooms have hoists. My mom is in a semi-private room divided by a curtain with two single hospital beds, and a shared bathroom. It’s not a new facility; it’s been around for 30 or 40 years. The staff is very good, and it has a brightly lit center where they eat. They have some rooms that are private, but those are in demand. They have a woman who comes around to sing hymns to the residents, if they want that. They have church services and a regular list of activities for them to do. From what I have seen, the food looks nutritious, well prepared, and comes in a variety of choices.

Beware! I wouldn't even give this a 1 star, but that is the lowest rating possible. My mom received very poor quality of care at Benedictine Health Center Innsbruck. They didn't bath her without several requests. The last three weeks she was there, they didn't walk her as required for normal exercise. A staff member told her she had Alzheimer's, while she has never been diagnosed with that disease.

My mother stayed here for over a month. Terrible care. There were times she had to wait over 3 hour for a drink of water and even longer to get help to go to the bathroom. Little things like clock and room lights didn't work. They never updated her medications list so when she was discharged they provided an incorrect list of medications to her next place. I had to get her doctor to straighten the whole thing out.

My father was in the TC unit for 12 days in January to recover. The doctor prescribed physical therapy and nutrition. This nursing home serves very substandard meals and offers sweets to diabetic TC residents as snacks. The first evening at the facility; what was once a warm meal of a whitish piece of chicken and cold, extremely watered down soup was served tepid with spoiled milk. During intake and a 'care conference' the following Monday, the assistant director of nursing did not know which patient he was with and gave med information to me for another patient thinking it was for my dad. I was denied a copy of the care plan. when requested. There was also an incident of a night nurse scaring my dad by coming into the room angrily and slamming the phone down on my dad's radio because I asked if my Dad's phone was in order and hadn't heard from him. I reported this and was told there would be follow up, but there never was. Upon discharge I noted that my dad was getting the wrong dose of a medication. He was seen once by a doctor during 12 days. This center gets a lot of government/medicare money and feeds residents poorly. Very sad for those who are left there for fend for themselves without a patient advocate. I know if I had left my dad there for any longer length of time he would have gotten worse.

Understaffed. Leads to rushed "Aids and Staff", poor communication or none at all and infrequent or inattentive care. Sick Staff with snot running down their noses showing up to work causing illnesses to already threatened residents. Poor communication follow up regarding loved loves. Appearance of wanting to fill beds over care. Realize some Facilities are worse but numerous issues our family encountered gives a head's up to anyone placing loved one here.
