My dad had to go to the facility for physical therapy. The person who called before admitting him didn't really listen to some of the things I had to say. She seemed in a hurry. A nurse called me in regards to a medication he was taking and needed approval for him to take it. I knew nothing about it and told her I would get back to her. I left her a voicemail saying he could take it She never bothered to tell me this was a private email so he did not get his medication over the weekend. I wasn't called by anyone there with updates on my dad. I had to call and when I did call I was told that there had been issues with my dad. I couldn't get a hold of the social worker who was supposed to be helping me as she was busy moving into their new ofices. When I did talk to the social worker I was told he'd be done with physical therapy on a Friday. I scrambled to find a new facility to take him. I called the social worker 2 days in a row leaving voicemail messages with my call back nimber. No calls back. I finally received an email from the social worker stating she had been calling me but I hadn't received any calls. I emailed her and told her she hadn't called me. She replied that my number was wrong in their system and she had been calling the wrong number. I had left my call back number on her voicemail. She obviously must not have listened to it. I missed a care conference due to them calling the wrong number. After all of my scrambling to get him in a new facility as I was told he was being discharged now I've been told that discharge doesn't mean being released from the facility and that he now will be staying longer. Very confusing. I have to say that the communication is terrible with the staff here. If you want information on your family member, good luck getting it.

My grandmother moved in here after my grandfather died, first in the Assisted Living portion and later in her life in the nursing home portion. It was a godsend to the family to know that she was happy and surrounded by friends. Despite severe rheumatoid arthritis, she was able to live in her own apartment for many years, with day-to-day help dressing and with household activities, and her meals provided in the dining room. Thank you, Maplewood!
