Elim Shores is a great option for families looking for a warm, kind, and personable community. My mom lived there for 18 months and I only moved her recently for closer proximity to me on the other side of town. We found the campus super easy to navigate and not so huge that she couldn't find her way around. She loved the friends she made, and the staff worked together to make it fun. They actually knew all of their residents personally, and could help a family see if there were any needs that a family member may have. The pricing for an Eden Prairie facility is excellent. Many facilities have become so cost prohibitive, it makes it hard on a family estate. The location is easily accessed, yet very peaceful on a lake. The staff really made it a great environment with a sense of positive community. That always comes from the management on down, and Chris worked hard to create "fun" for the residents. The activity options were great, and Becky the activity director is pure joy. We are very thankful as a family to have places that we can customize help for our mom. Elim Shores was a big help in our being able to accomplish that.

My mother is in Elim Shores. The staff is very warm and inviting. It is a smaller community, and we feel very comfortable with them. They have a number of outings where they take the residents out to a theater or shopping. They have a bridge club that my mother joined and take her to weekly religious services. It really works out nicely. They are a great group of people. However, they do not have quite the variety of food that my mother normally had. She likes more ethnic food, and this is more of your basic meat and potatoes. They can improve on having an on-site physical therapy. They do have an organization that you can schedule to come in, but it is not really equipped as compared to the other communities that we looked at, but that is a very minor issue. The director is phenomenal, and the registered nurse is really wonderful. I met with almost the entire staff. The residents have a strong community feel. Everybody introduces themselves and comes over for coffee.

Elim Shores is a very nice place. It's moderately priced, and it also has senior waivers, which a lot of places do not have. If a senior runs out of money, they throw you out. This place does not do that. The staff is very nice, caring, helpful, cheerful, and efficient. Even the residents are nice. I live in the East Coast; the Midwest is a much different world. The facility is also clean. Being at Elim Shores seems to work out for my mom, financially, and you just get a sense that it's a good place. I went to check out Elim Shores' independent living section for my mom. It's in a great location, very clean, pleasant and quiet place. It had everything we were looking for, adequate room with a kitchen, great space for a bedroom. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They have a board that shows all the different activities that are going on. It would definitely be a place that I would consider when we come down to making that decision.

Elim Shores is in Eden Prairie. We decided to check it out while searching for a place for our uncle to live. Nearby Mitchell Lake is a place we used to frequent as kids "“ so this seemed like a comforting place for our uncle. The staff and residents seem to enjoy a very homey atmosphere. The level of care that they provide fluctuates with the needs of their residents, so everyone has the freedom to be as independent as they are able to be. The units we saw were all terffic "“ nicely decorated and looked very comfortable and spacious. Residents are checked on regularly as necessary. Some of the units had balconies that overlooked the lake. The list of outings and activities seemed a bit limited, although they do encourage participation and suggestions. On site "“ they do offer opportunities to exercise regularly with supervision, read, use the computers and watch films. The food looked well-thought out, delicious and nutritious. Snacks seemed like the usual "“ from fruit to cheese, crackers and sometimes protein bars. You can put in special requests if you like, as well. All in all, the staff was friendly, the facility was clean and the care seemed adequate. Nothing really jumped out at us about this facility, after visiting many others in the region.
