When it comes to assisted living, at Mount Royal Pines III we have a different point of view. Our view is enjoying all of the things you want to do — without sweating the small stuff. It’s enjoying spacious apartments, restaurant-style dining, and engaging activities — without the chores. It’s having many of the things you need — grocery store, post office, library and more — right outside the front door. It’s having support when you need it — and freedom when you don’t.
Mount Royal Pines III was built in 2000 and was the first assisted living complex of its kind for seniors in Duluth. There are 54 fully-equipped apartments that each include a living room, kitchen, bedroom and bath.

My tour at Mount Royal Pines III was nice. The buildings were a bit older and not as updated as the other place I saw, but other than that, it's nice. You could see people as they were eating and the community seemed nice as well. The staff who gave the tour was informative, showed us around nicely and everything. They had a nice large dining area, a lot of people are in there eating, and seemingly were doing fine, so that was nice. They could use a little bit of touch-up painting and patchwork, but overall, they were pretty good. The upkeep was fine, and the amenities that we saw there seemed nice.

Mount Royal Pines III was a very nice community. The staff was very attentive, and the rooms were very nice. It's very adequate, well-lit, and has a kitchenette. It felt like home. During the pandemic, they had limited activities, but they are ramping up the activities now. They have a lovely outdoor area, where the residents can socialize and meet with each other. They also have a garden area, where the residents can be active in helping to plant flowers. They have an onsite salon, an activity room, and games. I appreciated that they had a library area and screened-in porches, too.

What I like the most about Mount Royal Pines III is its location. The staff is wonderful, and my dad's accommodations are excellent. Their facility is very nice, and apparently the menu is very good. They have scheduled activities, and they could either deliver your meals to your room or you could eat in the dining room. They have a daily nurse check, cleaning, laundry, and all of the things that you get with assisted living. It is located close to restaurants, the library, the grocery store, the post office, the bank, and all of the critical items that you may need, plus it's easy for me to get there.

The employees are very caring and easy to talk to. Any concerns a relative has, is addressed immediately. I have no concen that my Dad is taken care of and makes me feel that he is comfortable and in a good place. I know that when my time has come to move to such a facility, I would gladly choose Pines III.
