I visited Willows Landing Senior Living. I'm young and the age there is older than I wanted. The rooms were teeny tiny. There were people in the cafeteria area, and I saw people walking around. I wouldn't be able to get into their laundry room because it's narrow and doesn't have an automatic door. You can get them to do the laundry and take care of the trash, but it was an extra cost. They had a beautiful dining area and the outdoor seating area was beautiful. The grounds are pretty. It might be a better fit for someone that's over 53. It was cute because I had my grandkids there with us and they gave them some treats and stuff, and they had a great time. They had very nice staff. All of them were very wonderful. I looked at their independent living but I could also get assistance there as well. The kitchen sink was right there when you open the door, it was against that wall immediately, and that was just weird.

Stay away from here. They don't care about people. Bottom line is the almighty $$. Was all set to move my mother in. Took the tour, filled out all the tons of paperwork, put my mother's $500 down, their nurse did her assessment. It was all set. This entire painful procedure took almost a week. Mom was all set to be moved the following Thursday. I get a call from them Monday morning telling me she can't have the room now. So sorry. They had an assisted living resident that needed the room. This was very upsetting to say the least. I had to start looking for another facility immediately. It also cost my mother thousands of $ more because she then had to stay in the nursing home longer. Had to reschedule movers. It was a total nightmare. ALSO, when I called originally I had asked about the Elderly Waiver. I was told they accepted it after two years of private pay. OK, I could deal with that. So after I'm half way through the paperwork the woman tells me "Oh....they want me to tell you that they can't guarantee your mom would have a room after her two year. That it all depends on how many people are private pay at the time. Wow. I just never knew I would run into such unethical and greedy people. But now I know and so do you.

My dad moved into the Willows Landing Senior Living. The location was really good for some family members. The facility was very clean and modern. They were doing a temperature check and oxygen level for every visitor coming into the building. I assume they were doing something similar for the staff. They were doing a check of the residents every few days.

I did a tour of Willows Landing. It's a very nice place. It's very clean, it's very well managed, and the people are nice. But it's not for my mom; she needs more assistance and more of a nursing home type of place. They are assisted living for people who are capable to live on their own. It was a very clean, very nice place. I saw an efficiency room and a one-bedroom; they were very well put together. It's very nice. They had a courtyard. They had a room they called "the pub," where people could go and get together with their families. They had a chapel area. They had a couple of different areas where the people could go and get together with other residents. They do have outings. It was a really good place, but it just isn't quite for my mom at this time. It's all brand new.
