I toured EagleCrest. The rooms were nice. They had lots of events, and there were lots of onsite amenities. It was very tastefully decorated. The people were nice. The person who showed me around was excellent. It's a lovely layout. It's quite open and attractive. It's very well decorated.

EagleCrest has different facilities based on the level of care. My dad did not like it for some reason. The person giving us the tour wasn't quite as knowledgeable about all the services, and she was not quite as friendly as the other places. We only interfaced with the sales marketing person.
It's a relatively new facility and it's taken very well care of. It's reasonably close to me to go visit. The rooms that I saw were adequate. The dining area was fine; they only had 3 dining options for my father.

We took a tour of Eaglecrest, and the apartment was beautiful. They redecorated with all new appliances, and everything was new. They're remodeling. They haven't done the dining area, the entry, or the hallways; they're pretty dark. The decorating is not good, but they're going to remodel. Because of Covid, they had to delay the remodeling, but I think all the apartments are done now. The living atmosphere needs redecorating. They have exercise classes. There's a workout room, and they have a hair salon where somebody comes and does hair. The one who assisted me on the tour was wonderful and very good.

My father is currently at EagleCrest. It's a great community, and I've heard, very consistently from people outside my family and amongst my acquaintances, that it's very highly regarded. The facility is clean, bright, and well-maintained. It is full of people who seem to interact successfully with each other. The staff of the building is extremely thoughtful and very natural in their desire to offer the residents a good place to live in a good caring capability.
It seems that there is a recognition that people need to migrate from independent living to assisted living, and so there is a progression with that in mind available at EagleCrest. There are small communities available within the facility, for example, a community of people who play bridge as my father does and other small communities like that that keep people's interests vital as they get older, so that's good.

One night a staff member attempted to enter my apartment without calling or knocking. I was terrified. Luckily I had a door security bar. I later found out they were looking for "the man that lives there" but no man lived in my apartment. They did not even bother to check their records to see who lived in which apartments.
I complained to the manager, who took a week to respond to my concerns and then made light of the incident. Needless to say I moved out! The lack of respect and concern for residents is appalling.

I went there everyday for a couple of weeks and I sat with her when she ate and ate meals with her; the food was excellent. She was there from the middle of November to the middle of January. It was a very nice place and probably the best in the area. The only problem with Eagle Crest was they did not take Medicare, which I consider very important. This is why I do not give them a five. If my mother-in-law would have continued to live there and she ran out of assets, then she would need her own Medicare, and they did not take Medicare. Otherwise, the place was excellent, and because they do have independent, assisted, and memory care, they have all three of the things my mother-in-law would have needed, but we couldn't afford to keep her there.

My parents moved into Eagle Crest. I would say it is a very homey environment. They have a 500-square-foot apartment, but just the non-institution atmosphere, it is really homey. My parents seem happy with just getting out and enjoying meals with other people, and that was one of the big things. What precipitated their move there was just not having meals at their previous apartment. So far, we have been happy with the staff. They have activities. They have a chapel service. They have a child facility right next door, so they do some combined activities with the preschool-age children. Two to three times a week, they will have an afternoon ice cream social get-together. There is exercise class; my parents haven't done that yet, but that is offered as well. They have a lot of options. The dining area kind of resembles a restaurant. It is very nice. You can sit at table anywhere from 2 to 6. My parents can sit with different people. Overall, they have been really happy with the quality of the food. They get two meals a day. They have decided to do breakfast and dinner, but they can switch it up if they want to, so it has worked out really well. The neighborhood is very nice. The hospital would probably be 5 to 10 miles, but there is a grocery store just down the street and a shopping mall maybe a mile away. There is also a restaurant almost right next door, actually.

My dad moved into Eagle Crest. He's only been there a short time, but we're happy with what we've seen so far. I live three hours away, but I was there quite a bit when he first moved in. I stayed in the city, and I was there for three to four days, and since then, I probably have been up once a week.
They're really friendly, and they have the kind of care that my dad needs, and he likes his room. The food is good. The only thing we can't get him to do is go out with the van, and now that the weather is better, we can maybe work on that one. He's staying close to home, but that's him, that's not them. It's very clean. It doesn't smell bad. It's a real nice place. They had some good options as far as how much care he wanted and how much care he needed. They are really good at helping us as a family make those decisions, about what was available and what he needed, and then making those two work for care. It wasn't like one size fits all. They were very good about communicating with us.
