White Pine Advanced Memory Care of Cottage Grove was brand new and clean. It was built for the purpose of taking care of people. It was very well designed and very nice looking. It was a little more expensive than others, and a little more sanitized, but still very nice and well staffed.

I have been a family member of a resident that is at White Pine Memory Care for the past 2 years. It has been quite a journey. This is our only experience with an memory care facility so it is hard to compare. We are told that they all have their pros and cons. With that being said I think that the concept that White Pine portrays is great but they do not live up to what they are promoting. The environment is new and inviting. The price is reasonable but has consistently gone up over 800.00 in the last two years. I wish that I could say that the care as increased but we feel that the quality of care has dropped over the time. As with all facilities there is always a shortage of staff. When trained staff begin and they are comfortable with the residents they all to often leave. We are very disappointed in the supervision of the building. Staff is far to often left on their own without directions. Records are not kept up to date along with no followup on concerns. Before I would enroll a loved one at any care center I would do a lot more research. Once loved one is settled in it can be very hard to uproot them to another facility. This is the reason that we are still involved at White Pine. Please for the safety and care of your loved one don't ever take for granted that what the facility promises is in fact really what happens.
