My mother will be moving into McKenna Crossing. They seem to have everything that she may need now and possibly in the future. They've got very friendly staff and the units were nice. Everything was nice. Even where they go to eat, they've got someone that comes in and plays the piano. They've got cards and bingo, a bus that comes in regularly and can take them on different field trips that they have scheduled, a gym, a bank, and a salon. They've got everything a person would need.

McKenna Crossing is being run by Presbyterian Homes and they have a good reputation. They have a good staff to resident ratio. I also liked the fact that they have continuum care all in one area, from independent to assisted to memory care. Down in the lower section, they have a restaurant for dining and my mother really liked that. Even though memory clients eat on their own floor, they can go to the restaurant if they have company. They don't do the typical things like Bingo, they have really motivating activities. For example, in the memory care unit, singers come in and sing songs the residents remember from when they were younger. It would have been nice if the price was a little cheaper. The facility itself is very nice and easy to access from different areas. They keep the decorations current and there are no odd smells, they keep everything nice and clean.

We visited Mckenna Crossing -- it's good and it looked nice. The facility was clean, neat, and the carpeting was up to par. They had workout rooms, craft rooms, and buses that take the residents places. It's a part of Presbyterian and they're very well-liked. The staff was sweet, very helpful, and wonderful. You can order what you want to eat off a menu. The residents we saw were very happy there.

They put my mom to bed tonight with her wheelchair out of reach and her walker in a different room - AGAIN. Despite the fact that she CAN'T WALK without a walker and will most certainly break (another) hip if she gets up in the night. Despite the fact
that I've requested (three times) that her walker be placed within her reach at bedtime!!!
They also put her to bed tonight without her necklace call button so she'd
have no way to call for help if she did fall. (I later found the necklace under the couch, where it may have been for weeks......).
Most of the staff at McKenna are kind and caring people who want to do a good job - but a huge inconsistency of leadership (five nurse managers over the last 20 months!) has led to poor communication, lack of training, and absence of accountability.
McKenna Crossing is a beautiful building with gorgeous surroundings and nice people, but they just aren't very good at taking care of people......

McKenna Crossing Senior Living is attached to a church and a YMCA, so you could walk inside without going into the weather and that is really very nice. It is a brand new facility and it is also run very nicely. The environment is very good. They have a grocery store, a cafeteria and a coffee shop there. There are lots of nice amenities attached to it, so there are a lot of things for my mom there. Also their staff is accommodating and very nice to her.

Mckenna Crossing is in Prior Lake, a lovely part of Minnesota. It features modern living environment that looks more like an updated condo community than an assisted living facility, which we really liked.
The outside grounds were gorgeous and well tended. The park-like atmosphere would really appeal to our grandmother. The high ceilings throughout the facility featured many plants and large, light filled windows. The indoor lounging area can be accessed year-round. The chairs in the activity rooms were on rollers, for easy navigation. There are many fireplaces for the residents to enjoy in spacious rooms.
There is a book store, cafe, cafeteria style and formal dining areas to choose from. The exercise facility was large and had plenty of equipment. They also offer classes. The theater was the size of any you might find in a loca neighborhood. The apartments all had seating in the kitchens, and the bathrooms were spacious and easy to navigate.
The staff is caring, kind and attentive. We were impressed with their efforts to ensure the safety and comfort of the residents. They also have many outside events they offer to take their residents to. Just about any activity you can think of is on their activity list.
The foods offered looked delicious and the snacks were all healthy. Anytime a resident needs or wants food, they will supply it. The staff will also accompany residents to the market to find their favorite items if they like. By far, this is one of the nicest assisted living facilities we have been to in Minnesota.
