I toured Stoney River Assisted Living & Memory Care. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and gave lots of good information. They didn't make me feel rushed. They were willing to take plenty of time to talk to me and answer my questions. I had a nice tour of the facility. The dining room was nicely setup. The building had a nice combination of bright places with a lot of natural light, but also areas that were a little more cozy feeling. It was a nice area. It had close access to roads, but yet was set in a place where there was a lot of good landscaping or scenery around. It was a pretty setting. You felt like you were away from the roads and things, but they were close by. It was during lunchtime, so they were starting to fill up the dining room. They said I was welcome to bring my mom back at a mealtime if I wanted. They had good laundry facilities. There was certain days of the week they had someone in for a beauty salon. They had games and books. They had an exercise room, a little theater room, and a nice little community room.

Had an immediate need to find a place for my mom a couple of years ago. All I had was google and to try to find a place near me and my brothers as we wanted to move her closer to us from No. Minnesota. It’s such a scary situation to be when you have no idea what to expect. It’s been over two years now and could not be happier. She loves the staff and her resident family. Whether it’s happy hour on a Friday in the lounge, 6pm movies every night in the theater or a night out for the outdoor concerts in Ramsey or shopping at dollar store they do what it takes to keep my mom active. As with anything or everywhere staffing can be challenging but they really care for my mom which am grateful.

We went to see Stoney River Assisted Living & Memory Care. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The facility was very clean with a lot of useful amenities for seniors. We toured the assisted living part of it. I guess the only reason my mother-in-law wouldn't like it is probably that there wasn't much storage in the rooms. A lot of the bathrooms and the vanity areas were just a sink so if you want to put away stuff, you have to bring your own storage for the bathroom. I guess that would be the one drawback for the bathrooms. She also kind of wanted more of a full kitchen and theirs were more of a mini kitchen for most of the rooms. I would say if the person likes to cook, it's not a full kitchen and they don't have an oven and stove. My mother-in-law still likes to cook and the kitchens were not made for people who still enjoy cooking.

Stoney River Assisted Living & Memory Care was very well kept. It was a warm feeling when you walked in. The people in charge were professional and were very accommodating in showing the rooms that they had and the facilities. Each thing they presented seemed to be presented very well. They had different sizes of rooms and you're billed according to the size of your room square footage. Some of the smaller ones weren't possible for a couple. My wife needs the attention and I'm fully capable of managing myself, but we needed an apartment or a room type thing where we could stay together. We did not taste the food other than that they provided us cookies and beverages, and they were very good. I've been looking over their activity sheet for the month and they have the usual activities, exercise, yoga, and there's a pool table there. They have in-house activities, a theater, and a bus that takes people to various activities in the community. It looked like they have a full range of activities for people.

Buyer beware. All that was promised was not delivered. Poor communication.

Stoney River is absolutely fantastic. The atmosphere is very comfortable and not hospital-like. It's homier. It has little communities and common areas that have hairdressers, cookie shops, coffee shops, and TV rooms. It's laid out wonderfully, very comfortable, and casual. It doesn't have any kind of a sterile or clinical or institutional feel to it at all. They have assisted living and memory care. My mother loves the food. It's a place that I personally would want to be if I needed to have assisted care. We're really happy.
