My sister is at St. Joseph's Village. She has been there for six months now. It's good. They have a common area. Independent living gets two meals a day and activities. The food is pretty decent. She gets a lot of rehab onsite with some of probably the best physical therapy I've ever seen, which was awesome. But most of the time she was just in her apartment, and she wasn't doing their activities. She plays bingo, and they have church services. The staff are there when she needs them. If you need any care at all, you have to contract with an independent care company, which they don't always have the staff. But the care is outstanding. A big bonus is they provide transportation to all her doctors within St. Joe's complex, so we don't have to transport her. Since it's on the St. Joe's campus, they just use the hospital shuttle and take them anywhere in the complex. So she can get to the dentist, the eye doctor, the primary care ,and her specialists because they're all right there. It's another reason we stayed. It's all included in the price. They have studios, one-bedrooms, and two-bedrooms. My sister has a one-bedroom with a full kitchen and a full bathroom. It's pretty good-sized. They've all been recently renovated. She also went on a trip with them to the cider mill. She plays bingo regularly. She goes to church twice a week. She's got some friends now, and so she goes and chats with them at times and just sits out. She is happy with the activities. The place is a much better value.

I toured St. Joseph's Village. It is very nice, and it is a little bit cheaper. They have call buttons in the rooms, and they are going to put in intercoms, so if anyone falls in their apartment, they'll come right away. They have a lot of protection, especially for blind people like my mother. Plus, it's right there across from the hospital. They have an exercise area, an activity area, a nice dining facility, and a salon. The staff seemed professional and attentive. I don't know what they're doing now with COVID, but they have movies, book clubs, a community room, and a lounge room. It is kind of like a hotel: you walk in, and there's a beautiful lobby.

I looked at an apartment at St. Joseph’s Village. I was quite pleased with what they had available. The staff was helpful, very pleasant, and very professional. It had a very pleasant atmosphere and it's in a nice location. It would be a very nice place to live. Everybody was very pleasant. It's an excellent facility, very clean, very modern, very pleasing to the eyes, and very appealing.
