If I could rate a zero I would. We had several issues and tried to address them with both management and corporate. There were never any resolutions offered, only “I’m sorry, that should not have happened”. Our expressing our concerns only created a tense situation. The last incident left us concerned for our loved one’s safety, so we moved them out. I feel sorry for the few caregivers there that do an excellent job. They are over worked. Staff turnover is high, and new staff are not properly trained. This place looks pretty on the outside, but look very closely especially during off hours.

My friend moved into Anthology of Rochester Hills. It was very nice-looking. The staff was well dressed, and it wasn't exactly uniform, but they weren't casual in their dress, and it was nice. I know they couldn't provide her with her gluten-free diet as they had hoped. I mean, they did the best they could. Her room is very nice; it has to be relatively new. She had a kitchen, which was very small, a very nice living room, and a small dining area. The room was bright. They painted that, as I remember, like a nice color gray. It didn't look institutional, let's put it that way. Everything looked nice. They have a very nice lobby where you could wait, and I think they had out in front there a place where you could sit or something. There was an area where they could meet.

We went to visit Anthology of Rochester Hills. It was very, very nice. I would like to live there myself. It was excellent. The staff was nice. The tour was wonderful. It was very, very clean. The person who gave me the tour was very knowledgeable and very personable. She seemed to care about the residents. The rooms were very nice, clean, and very sufficient to meet the needs of the residents. It was just right. It wasn't too much for a resident and it was just enough. I visited both assisted living and memory care, but more importantly the assisted living. There were a lot of activities. There were many amenities. They could eat as long as they wanted and however much they want it. The menu seemed to be diverse. It was not just regular stuff on the menu, but they had a little bit going on, which was good for them to choose from. It seemed to be OK, but I didn't taste anything. I saw someone playing dominoes, and that's all I visibly saw. Two people are engaging in it.

I toured just the assisted living at Anthology of Rochester Hills. It's a new facility and it's nice. It was just too busy. You walk in the main entrance and there were a lot of people standing around. It was just too busy, and it was too much. Their rooms for assisted living, to me, were cold. They weren't warm and inviting. When it comes to placing a parent somewhere, the first thing I think of is, would I like to live here, and if the answer is no, then I wouldn't want to put my mom there either. I just get a feeling that it's a very cold atmosphere. I think it's too big and too modern, and it didn't work for me. The staff was very nice and very informative. I just didn't care for the layout. I didn't care for the busyness of the place. For me and my mom, I just thought it was just too busy and confusing. The facility looked nice, and the dining room looked nice. The parking was terrible.

I looked at Anthology of Rochester Hills. The people were really friendly. It was brand new and nice. They would have to interview my mom to see which facility she would be living at. They took me around the assisted living and memory care facilities. It was a great experience. The rooms were very clean and brand new. The facility was very nice looking, clean, and cheery. The location was good. It's close to my house and close to my work. It looked like a very nice place.
