Garbage bin used to collect bodily wastes was kept in hallway outside residents' rooms, not only a poor sanitary condition, but also the odor was extremely offensive. The supervisor told me that they were to be kept in the shower room. However, the only time this occurred during my relative's 10 months at the facility was during an announced evaluation. During the 10 month stay there were only 10 days when I was unable to visit. To my deep alarm and regret I was not able to be with my relative when she died because I was not notified. When I was notified that "she was no longer with us" I immediately drove the 10 miles to the facility. I was told that her condition had worsened and when I asked if someone was with her when she passed I was told that someone was holding her hand. The hand holding her hand should have been mine.

I was a resident here for a couple weeks after I had foot surgery. The staff was wonderful and very accommodating. My daughter has worked here for many years also and loves working here. I would highly recommend this facility for anyone looking to place their loved one either for rehab or for long term placement. The rooms are two people to a room and the heat and the air conditioning is controlled in the rooms by the residents. The rehab department was great and they tried to reach all of my goals to get me back home sooner than what I thought I would,

This facility has done an excellent job of caring for my husband I highly recommend Heartland for giving back a quality of life that is unsurpassed by most.. The nurses are wonderful to all of the residents. The nurses aides are the best in patient care. The facility is very clean. The activity personal engages and encourages each one to join in the activities, They offer many interesting things to do and they are geared towards promoting sociability. The residents express their joy in staying there. From the commitment and dedication of the staff and administration they well deserve a five star rating.
