My mom moved into Brecon Village a week and a half ago. It has been wonderful. There are lots of activities, like cards, bingo, exercise, movies, music presentations, and more. It is a very nice and very clean place. The room is clean. The staff members are very helpful. My mom gets three meals a day. They wash her sheets, towels, and laundry. They also clean her room once a week. They're very good.

The rooms at Brecon Village were a little smaller than the room that my father has. They had an activity room, hydrotherapy, and a pool. The setup is very open. They encourage the residents to talk, and there's music. It seemed very alive and they have a lot going on for people that are able to walk around and do things. The staff was wonderful. They had a game room, a library, and plenty of things to do for them.

Brecon Village in Saline was really nice and had more of a luxury apartment feel. But I didn’t pick this one, even though they are closer to me, because they were set up so that you can very quickly run up a large bill. They had a lot of a la carte choices, and I thought this was not going to be cost-effective for my dad. The rooms were very large, very light and airy, and everything was immaculate. The bathrooms were big, and the kitchenette was quite large and had a lot of cupboard space. They had the apartment-sized fridges. They had a huge exercise room, and assisted living and independent living in one building. It was a very nice, well-equipped facility. The menu looked like it was from an upscale restaurant. They had so many choices; I was astounded. It was really nice.

I am living in Brecon Village. They are just very clean and very accommodating. They help the people a lot. They have an independent place where you can just rent an apartment. They also have an assisted living area and a memory center, which is for the Alzheimer's and dementia people. So, you can progress from the independent on through the different levels. The people that work there are a lot of students. They have a maintenance crew that is very good. There is an enrichment center, and they have a bus that takes us to trips 3 or 4 times a month around different places like to the zoo and museums.
The surroundings are very nice. The yard is impeccable and very nice. The food is very good. It is very accommodating and has everything that you will want.

It's fantastic, topnotch, smaller scale residents, but high caregiver to patient ratio. It's highly recommended. They were extremely welcoming and friendly. The place is very, very clean, homey, a lot of activities, and they treat you like family.
