I recommend American House East ll. They were the most accommodating, knowledgeable, caring people I have ever come across. They answered all my questions. They took their time. They knew the stress I was going to, and I just cannot recommend any more of a beautiful place than that facility with those people who work there. Everything looked very neat, very clean looking. I didn't see anything wrong with any of the facilities at all. It was wonderful. I was in the common area, and one time there was a gentleman doing some kind of demonstration or lecture, and there were quite a few people in attendance just listening.

American House East II is just right down the street from me, so it's convenient for us. My auntie moved in there and so far everybody's been great. I went to another American House too, and the staff over here is much more accommodating and more interactive with the residents. It was just a better atmosphere. It's nice. It's clean and well kept, and more traditional, while the other one was more modern. Over here, you can have your own balcony, and they have a garden where you can plant your own flowers. So, it is more of my auntie style. She loves the food too, and they have a lot of activities. They were doing exercises yesterday, then they have an Elvis impersonator coming on Thursday. They have a beauty salon, a doctor, and physical therapy. They have a whole calendar of activities. It costs, but everything's working out, so that's good.

I went to visit American House East II. It seemed to be pretty clean. They seemed like they were pretty attentive to the patients there, although the cost was just too expensive. I saw one of the rooms. They have shared rooms and they have single, apartment-style rooms; they are like a small efficiency-type apartment. The room is clean. There is not a lot of space, but when you're getting older and you're sickly, I don't think you care about space. The one thing I did see that I liked was that it was very clean, and that's very important. They have a library of sorts, and they have a person who comes in and does their hair. It was like a small beauty parlor; it's one room with a chair. They also do activities like arts and crafts, they have games and things, and they watch movies. They have different things like that. It feels pretty homey, and maybe even comfortable. The staff seemed to be really nice. They seemed to be very polite and very understanding. I thought the place was very clean.

American House East II was outdated. The facility was just OK, but I didn't get to see everything. There was nothing spectacular about what I saw. They had small entertainment rooms, but they did not have an exercise facility. Nothing was great about the surrounding area. It's off a road. It's just an average facility.

The amenities at American House East II Senior Living are pretty satisfactory. They have everything my mom needs -- 24-hour medical assistance if she needs it. She’s pretty much all set there. They have field trips on a regular basis. They do arts and crafts. The first week my mom was there, she made a wreath for her door. They can play all the cards they want. Although, there’s only one elevator. One time, the elevator broke and the people on the second floor were stranded, but they were able to fix it the same day. The building itself is not fancy. (It) looks used, but it’s clean. It just has an older look.

My mother has a one-bedroom apartment at American House. They provide laundry service and three meals a day. They have a community room, and they have planned events for the seniors living there. If they do not show up for each meal, someone goes down and makes sure that everything is fine. They also have cords in every room that they'd call for help if they need it. They have a nurse on-staff every day and a doctor on-call. We eat there, and the food seems very good. The staff is very pleasant. They have cooking classes, baking classes, and card games. They also have a bus that takes them out, and once a week, they go shopping. They also have a bus that will take them to their doctors' appointments.

American House East II was a very nice place, and the staff was very nice. The food was very good; my sister and I had lunch there, but as we walked by and said, "Hello," the residents would just look at us. I don't know if it came from the staff down to the residents or if it was just they had a lot of lazy or hungry residents. It was almost lunch time, and maybe they were all hungry. The dining area was very nice. The choices on the menu were varied and nutritional. My mother said that she's gained ten pounds since she's been there; before living here, she was living alone and not eating correctly. I liked the little patios that they had for each resident. They either had a balcony if they were on the second floor or a nice little patio where they could get outside.

We had a great visit at American House – East II Senior Living. The staff were fine during our visit. The rooms were a nice size for a person or a couple.

Located in Roseville, MI, American House East is a beautiful senior living facility that takes top notch care of its residents. I have a great aunt who lives here and I was very surprised at how friendly and comfortably the campus is. I say campus because it literally feels like you are on a campus. There are activities and a bustling community of residents that eliminate any feel of a nursing home environment. In fact, the buildings feature little living quarters that resemble condos and look immaculate. The staff seemed very attentive to the needs of the residents and I came away feeling very confident in the level of care that my great aunt was receiving. It is a wonderful, clean and friendly environment that I highly recommend. One interesting thing to note is that many of the residents I conversed with did not have any gripes about the staff, food or anything else.

American House was very, very nice. We would have probably gone with American House if we had to put my mother in a home. The staff weren't rude and pushy. They're very informational. When you walk down the hall they got the walls painted like a street, with street lights, little canopies, little awnings like beauty shop, library. The rooms were very nice, very spacious with little kitchens. The dining area was excellent. The people would go there and they have assigned seating where you would sit with other residents of the facility that you get along with or that were in the same capacity as you. We were there at a time when they were actually having dinner. I thought it was nice the way they had it worked out.
