I am very happy with Allegria Village. Mom was constantly losing weight before and now she's starting to gain weight when she's there. So, the food is much better. Everyone has their own room and what she has is a bed, chairs, a bathroom and a sink, a closet, and a dresser space. It's nice and clean. The staff is great. They answer your questions. The outside is clean and you can walk around there. They have activities on the board every day of different things. They just take much better care of her and she feels comfortable there. She never was able to stand up on her own at her previous facility and now she can sit on her foot for hours and not be in pain. She also rode herself in the wheelchair into the dining room and come back. I am really glad we found this place.

DO NOT send any family member/loved one to Allegria for Rehab!!! Due to concerns regarding family member’s care and safety moved them to another rehab center after less than 24 hours. The following red flags were observed: 1. Social worker at the hospital made arrangements for transfer to Allegria Rehab but upon arrival the room was not ready. Not sure if the room was even cleaned, as the bathroom reeked of urine. 2. Rehab rooms do not come with a phone. If you want one, Allegria gives you a WOW contract to sign, stating it will be installed within 24 hours. Contract was cancelled the following day but 2+ months later WOW continues to send invoices for non-returned equipment from the Rehab center even though this is a “Bulk Acct” with Allegria. 3. The night nurse was EXTREMELY rude and appeared putout that I called to inquire as to the status of a family member (how were they doing and if anti-seizure medications were given). Her response was only the evening nurse knew if meds had been given. My wife called back to give her a second chance to address the request. Nurse stated she “was busy” and was told by my wife, who is also a nurse, that she understood and would wait on hold until the nurse’s task was completed. She gave up waiting after 45+ minutes. It should also be noted that there is only one night nurse for an entire floor. 4. There are NO supervisors overseeing evening or night personnel. Failing to get any Information from the nurse, an attempt was made to reach a supervisor via a nurse on another floor. We were told a nursing supervisor would be contacted and would call us back, which NEVER happened. 5. Numerous phone calls were made at 8 am the following morning to reach someone in management; however, it appears many do not start until 10 am. A visit to Allegria was warranted after failing to reach someone in charge by phone. 6. Met with a supervisor around 10 am and did receive an apology; however, the individual did not appear to be too concerned that medication was missed. Confirmed that night nurses do not necessarily have access to the patient information. 7. Even though this is a non-smoking campus, a number of employees were observed smoking in their cars, which gives the feeling rules are only there for show. 8. Finally, Allegria was given a chance to respond to the concerns listed above but never did.

Allegria Village was terrible. We found my father naked on the floor with feces all around him. His wheelchair was folded up and tipped over. He had an apartment in the independent living, which will be closing out, and it was very nice, but the rehab facility was very dirty. We had to clean the whole room when we brought him in. It was not good. They left him alone for hours. It would take them either 30 minutes to an hour to answer a call light. My dad seemed to enjoy the food, though, and there were a couple nurses that were very good. Most of the aides were just not very compassionate. The care was not there. The director of nursing even agreed that they're going downhill. We constantly had to be there to make sure that he was getting the right care.

Do NOT send your loved one here. Only one nurse (hired from an agency) per floor. They never answer the phone. They left my mom’s window open when it was 16 degrees outside. We had to call security to go in and close it because they were not able to reach anyone. Bed was broken. Nurses were rude. We pulled my mom out of there after only 2 days because my mom said if she stayed there, she’d die. Food was ok.
