My friend is in assisted living right now at NorthPointe Woods. It seems like a nice building. I've been having issues there because I am not related to him, and it's been very difficult for me as a non-relative to take care of him. I have power of attorney, and I'm his emergency contact. Once I got it, I said, 'Do you guys need this power of attorney?' They're like, 'We don't need it.' And then he goes to the hospital for something, and I can't find out where he is. It just seems like the staff is not helpful. I'm the one taking care of this man, and it's just been really difficult there. All these other places that I've gone to visit and take these tours, I've brought up this issue, and they're like, 'We have paperwork for that. If he says that we're allowed to talk to you, then it's fine.' I don't know if these people are just inexperienced or they just don't care, but it's not that uncommon to have somebody outside of your family take care of you.
The room (at least the one that I've seen) is just a square. It's really expensive, and my friend is just living in a square room. He doesn't have a kitchenette in there. From what I've seen so far, for the amount that he's paying, it just seems a little strange. They have a dining room. It is a fairly large complex, but I don't know about all of their activities and stuff. He seems somewhat listless there; however, they have been taking good care of him. I guess I can't complain really.

Just a few weeks ago, I visited NorthPointe Woods. It looked like it was very well-run. I met some of the staff and the place looked like it was very well-cared for. I looked at the assisted living and went through the independent living part. The staff was very friendly and the place was clean. It would be a good thing to sample some of the food but I didn't get a chance to do that or see it on the plate or anything like that. That's something that would be helpful to people if they would be offered lunch or dinner or something like that.
I would say the people that I met were very appropriate. The man that gave me the tour was very friendly, professional and just really good. The whole place looked like it had just been vacuumed. It was very well taken care of. It looked like the people that were assigned to cleanliness did their jobs.

My parents are currently at NorthPointe Woods. They are wonderful and the experience has been very, very positive. They are very helpful, and everybody there is very friendly. They are very supportive of the families and they take great care of the people in their care, like my folks. My dad does not like the food. It is very clean; it is expensive but it is what it is. We can't do it ourselves, so it is helping the family. I've inquired in another place and they were going to separate my parents, so we have to pay for two rooms.

We have a friend that lives in NorthPointe Woods, but it's not on one floor; it's basically apartment living. I didn't really care for that. I kinda wanted an open one-floor plan because my mom has a dog that has to go out, and it would be right outside. You walk about 20 feet and there's the door to the outside. The rooms are very nice, it's got plenty of rooms, and a balcony that you can go out in. It's great, but my mom has a dog. It's like in the downtown area, but I don't really care for the neighborhoods there. It's not safe.

My parents have been at NorthPointe Woods for 15 months now and we are very pleased with their care. Their apartment is spacious and bright with a bay window sill for placing their special pictures and ample closet and storage space as well. The staff is exceptional! They have been very timely in communicating needs and keeping me updated on any changes in their health that need attention. My Dad loves to play cards and goes twice a week to play Euchre and Texas Holdem and has enjoyed meeting other residents and making new friends. My mom enjoys the shopping trips and the quilting/sewing group. The dining room is very spacious and bright. There are several areas to gather to visit, snacks are always available, laundry service is included or residents can do their own if they'd like to. The complex is totally accessible without having to go outside so in the winter months, visiting friends in Independent Living or The Oaks is easily accessible. The Executive Director has made himself available to contact for any questions or concerns and has worked with our family to address specific needs in a very professional and caring manor. So much so, there is a sense of family and community here. I truly believe my parents are in the best place in town. It gives me great peace of mind knowing their needs are being met 24/7 and whenever I call, each of the staff has been more than helpful and accommodating.

My father has been at Northpointe Woods Assisted Living since February. Our experience has been absolutely wonderful!
The caring staff has made his transition so easy for him and our family.
His apartment as he calls it, is comfortable and the staff treat him like family.
He can play bingo, do exercise classes and walk around the entire property.
We are very grateful to have such a place in Battle Creek for our dad.
The wildlife is amazing. Dad loves to see the cranes, turkey's and deer out his window.
Do consider NorthPointe Woods for your loved ones.

Management is not in tune with the residents or the staff. The only thing they have going for them is admissions person..... I think her name is Peggy, not sure but she knows residents families and is so personable.

My father-in law is back at NorthPointe Woods from his rehab. He has breathing treatments and is paying for extra care, which they're giving to him. It's very good. We've been happy.

We visit Northpointe often. The building is very dark inside, and the hallways and a lot of the rooms face the parking lot, so everybody has their blinds shut. They have a very nice dining room, and nice staff going around and helping people, though I don't think they ever seem to have enough staff. We have a family member there, and so we go in and visit him. They have a nice craft room where they do different activities; a room where they have television and meetings; and a very nice eating area that is centrally located for everybody.

Northpointe Woods was very nice. The person I talked to was very informative. It was a gorgeous place, very upscale. I passed by their dining room, and the meals really looked nice. It was a very nice place. I think they were a little pricier, so I knew my aunt couldn't afford it. I liked best the energy of the place. I met one aide who was very bubbly and very welcoming.

I visited Northpointe twice and I found it satisfactory enough to move in. It was very nice and had few other things that I liked better. One of the things I liked is they had meal options. In addition, the place has more closet room, a walk in pantry and closet which is a plus as far as I am concerned. The lady I talked to was very nice and helpful in answering my questions and she took me around to show the different apartments.

Northpointe Woods was very clean and up to date. The people there were friendly. If I am to move, I would definitely check that out.

Northpointe Woods seems like a very great place to spend the last years of one's life. My grandmother is a resident there, and I visit her frequently. The staff always seem friendly and willing to help; they go the extra mile to provide an enjoyable experience for the residents. The living areas are always kept extremely clean and tidy, and my grandma has rave reviews of the food! Almost every day and night is filled with different activities. Things such as board games and movies are available to residents as a way to stay entertained. Physical therapy and other services are offered in-house, which is extremely helpful for the residents. Overall, I would say that Northpointe Woods is a wonderful place to be and I am extremely happy for my grandmother that she is there and not somewhere else. It is rare to see the kind of care the staff at Northpointe Woods put in to their jobs.
