We toured Shadowtree Lodge. We visited and talked to the lady that manages it. I felt very positive about that person, but she didn't have beds at the time. What my sister didn't like about that particular place was that it was very small. There were only five or six residents. There was a bathroom that you had to share. You didn't have your own bathroom with your bedroom; you had a shared bathroom. It was probably like three stories. There was a lower level, which would be like a walkout basement level, and that's where the residents were. There were not a lot of windows. The walls were painted charcoal gray. The rooms just seemed very claustrophobic and small. The fact that my sister would have to share a bathroom and that the rooms seemed small, just was not appealing to her. The lady we spoke to was very pleasant though. She showed us menus, and she talked about why she was doing this. They had a community room, and there was a TV. There were puzzles, books, and things like that. Outside they had benches and things. People could be outside in the good weather. However, we found it unappealing. The rooms were small. The community was small. It was just dark and kind of dreary. My sister said it was kind of depressing. It was clean and looked well-kept as far as that goes, but she didn't like the decor. The rooms were at a basement walkout level, and the family lived on the floors above. It just seemed claustrophobic to my sister. The patients that we saw looked like they were well cared for.

Shadowtree Lodge was very good. We were accepted there but they had to decline because they didn't have the 24-hour care that my dad needed. The staff was very friendly. I wish we could have gotten him in that place. It was nice. They had a bunch of board games and stuff. I saw the kitchen and the laundry room. It was just like a regular house. They had a big kitchen table where all the residents had dinner there. It was really nice and really clean. It looked like a lodge in the middle of the woods. It's beautiful.

My mother has resided her for the past 7 months. She has been happy and received excellent care from Diana and her staff. The home is clean and well cared for with lovely outdoor space to enjoy. The meals are tasty and nutritious. This private home is a gem! We were blessed to have them caring for Mom.

Shadowtree Lodge was small and complete, except they have public shower facilities. They had some activities and they serve meals. They have the ability to get a doctor immediately. The staff is very good.
