St. Anne's Mead is an older structure, but the staff has been there a very long time. Their rehab seems very complete and nicely targeted. The cost for the plan is median. My mother's enjoying it very much. The staff has been very friendly. She's also enjoyed the kitchen. They have a couple of rooms, but she's in a studio. They have programs like memory time where people go and talk about nostalgic things, and they have game times like Bingo, gambling, and cards. It's sponsored by the Episcopalian church, so they have a number of different Christian services throughout the week. There were other places where their physical plan was superior, but St. Anne's Mead really spoke a lot about building relationships and nobody talked about that anywhere else.

We visited St. Anne's Mead. We liked it, but the rates were very high -- $6000 a month. My sister didn't want to pay that much. I had a sister-in-law who stayed there for about a month, and it was an excellent place. The food was excellent. They had plenty of activities. The rooms for the residents were very large. The staff were very friendly. I would definitely recommend it.

My mother-in-law was a resident at St. Anne's for 5 years. She was in the assisted living area and skilled nursing area. It was wonderful that once she moved there she never had to leave. She died surrounded by the staff she loved who had become her family. Now my mother is in assisted living at St. Anne's for almost 3 years. She calls it home. Her room overlooks a courtyard with beautiful roses and other plantings. The staff is attentive and responds to any concerns quickly. You will be greeted by smiles from each staff member, whether it be the friendly face of the front desk greeter, nurses, nurse aides, activity coordinators or food service staff. St. Anne's has a physician/physician's asst. who come regularly to provide ongoing medical care. There is also a podiatrist, dentist and eye doctor who have all cared for my Mom. I don't have to take her out for those services if she isn't feeling well.
Quality of life is huge at St. Anne's! They have daily activities that fulfill their belief in the 3 Ps--productivity, pleasure and peace for each resident. They have an art room with wonderful things the residents have made under the direction of the art teacher. There are movies, entertainment, religious services (both Protestant and Catholic), themed parties and so much more.
Another benefit I appreciate is that St. Anne's is on one floor. I really like that. I know if there is an emergency everyone can be evacuated easily even if in a wheelchair. In my mind multi-floor buildings are not as safe. The grounds are also lovely with a small walking path that leads to a gazebo. The residents also plant vegetables in the summer.
I hope I haven't bored you with too much info. I just don't want you to miss out on considering this wonderful place for yourself or a loved one. My husband and I have come here for over 7 years and have no regrets in our choice for our Moms. Come and take a look for yourself! If St. Anne's is still here when I need care I'll greet you at the front door!
