I went to Waltonwood at Cherry Hill to visit a friend. It's very nice. I noticed a lot of interaction between the staff and residents. They seemed very caring and very responsive to the residents' needs. The place was tastefully decorated and very clean. The grounds were beautiful. They offer entertainment and transportation. They hold family dinners every other month where a resident can have family come in and have dinner with them in a private setting.

Waltonwood Cherry Hill was nice. They offer a lot of things, but it was expensive. You get your apartment and everything, but you've got to pay for the assistance to help them out. If you want somebody to give your loved one their medication, you've got to pay for it, but the room was very nice and clean, and the people were very friendly. They had church services, movie nights, and card games. The grounds were well-landscaped. The lady who toured me around was nice. The design and layout of the place were also nice.

I am a relative of a current relative. They let an outside therapist in for almost 2 hours with COVID symptoms. She tested positive the next day and now COVID is circulating throughout the place. It's shameful that, at this time, they are not more careful about who they let in. Imagine the anxiety of my relative and all of the residents!
We were having doubts before this happened. Most of the staff hangs out around the central desk chatting instead of checking in with patients. When my relative gets upset about something their first answer is always medication. I'm sure that's easier for the staff but how about just talking to the person and finding out what is wrong?
We are not happy with what we've seen there. I guess that's why they make you sign a year-long lease. It's harder to get away when you find out how substandard the care is.
I highly recommend that you avoid this place for the sake of your loved ones. There are many places to choose from in the Canton Michigan area. You and your loved one do not have to settle for this place. When you are shopping around make sure you ask a lot of questions about how they protect the residents from outsiders potentially bringing the COVID virus into the community.

My grandparents have stayed here for years and as far as I'm concerned Waltonwood has the best service imaginable! The grounds are beautiful and well taken care of and the interior is just as beautiful. The staff is very kind and helpful and every time I've visited they've assisted me with all of my needs. Waltonwood offers several amenities such as a gym, movie theatre, salon, computer room, and library, all of which are excellent. Waltonwood also offers multiple activities and events (although most of which have been canceled due to Covid-19) such as bingo, lunch outings, and even a Wii bowling team! This is just a part of what Waltonwood has to offer. The rooms are very nice, they are the perfect size for residents, big enough to not feel cramped but small enough to be manageable. The food is excellent, I would even say restaurant quality. They have great variety and vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. Waltonwood is an amazing place to live. I highly recommend Waltonwood to anyone that is considering it. You won't regret it!

My husband and I visited Waltonwood at Cherry Hill last year to get an idea of how it is. There are two of them in Canton and both are very good. The one at Cherry Hill was like a posh hotel. The rooms were all very good. They had everything and according to them they serve three meals a day. They had lots of activities also. We just had lunch, so we didn't eat anything, but they invited us to stay for lunch. The staff was very nice. As far as I observed, there's no problem with them. If I could afford the money, I would go to Waltonwood at Cherry Hill.

Pre-Covid we were ok with the care our mother received. Once COVID hit we were not ok with the care.
Way understaffed, laundry not being done, rooms not being cleaned. Less than transparent regarding COVID numbers and very secretive.
Our mother caught COVID, no surprise but actually survived. When it was FINALLY allowed we got her the heck out of there.
It was a huge three month nightmare.
I am not rating food etc because pre Covid it was fine along with the help etc. but after Covid there appeared to be different workers. Also all entertainment and activities stopped cold turkey leaving many seniors all alone unable to see family and nothing to do. I tried to contact Singh Development but of course I had no luck. I realize the government was no help and the fact that they cannot be sued is criminal.

Do NOT let your senior family or friends live at ANY of the Waltonwood facilities. The allow residents to lay for hours in soiled diapers and there are ants and bugs crawling all over the residents' rooms and on the residents themselves. We have photo proof of these horrible practices. If you love the senior in your life....you will not place them at waltonwood facilities.

Very nice facility in memory care. food was good and nicely presented and served, more like a restaurant. Rooms were much nicer than most places we looked at. Staff was generally very good although it took a little time to get my mom’s situation understood. Overall we were very pleased with facility and staff and service and felt my mother was very well cared for. She had full service which was expensive (around $10,000 a month) but in this case it was worth it.

Waltonwood at Cherry Hill has a building for memory loss patients. The woman who assisted us was very nice. $4,500 a month only includes the room and a meal; you have to pay for everything else. I was impressed with their activities and outings.

Waltonwood was very beautiful; I could have seen my mother fitting into that community quite well. It was very clean and it was a beautiful facility, it really reminded you of a home as it has a very homey feel. It was very modern and I love the apartments. It has a lot of activities, the staff was all very pleasant and we were given cherry pie and it was very good. The dining area was very well lit and it has an open seating. They weren’t confined with one partner every day, they can make friends and they can move around and I like that aspect.

The name of the facility is Waltonwood at Cherry Hill. We chose it because it is a nice community, and it had a homey feel. It didn't feel like you were put in a situation where you were put in a basement with a 'People who couldn’t help themselves' sign. They have activities all day long, and the staff is friendly. My husband has only been here since December, and so far, this is the best month. The rooms are nice. They got furniture in it. It has a closet, private bath, bed, and dressers. I would do like to see more nursing staff here in case someone gets sick. They do have a doctor here on staff, but he comes in once a week.

Waltonwood at Cherry Hill is excellent. The staff was nice. They seem like they really have things together. I don't know a whole lot about the staff there, but they seem very helpful. The rooms are nice and spacious, but they are a little more expensive. The dining room is nice. I would absolutely recommend this place to others.

Waltonwood was so expensive. The staff was very pleasant. That is the one place where the woman tried her hardest to make sure that I went there. She was really selling the place. The room was nice, but I didn't think it was safe for my father because he needed greater supervision. The dining area was very nice. They had a lot of activities. The place was very well maintained; however, it wasn't diverse enough for me. For a father with dementia, you want a little more familiarity as he would be the only black person there.

Currently we are using Waltonwood for my dad. It is clean, and the atmosphere is good. The staff treats my dad very good. They have a good staff, and they seem to be trained well. He has his own apartment that is a studio style. It has a small kitchen area, and it has no appliances other than a refrigerator. The space is fine.
They have a physical coordinator that exercises with the residents every week. They have an activities person that plays games with them like bingo and cards. Every week they go out to lunch. They have activities where they may go to a park or dancing. Their activities person is very good. The food is OK. They have a restaurant style dining room. The best feature is their atmosphere. It is decorated nicely and upscale.

Waltonwood was beautiful. I would like to move there, but I have to be 60, so I couldn't live there yet. It was an apartment complex, and they had 10 different floor plans. Anywhere, the smallest apartment was 550 square feet; that's for one bedroom and one bath all the way up to 2,200 square feet, which has three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and it was bigger than my house. It has a gorgeous kitchen. The place was huge. It had a movie theater in it. We had dinner there. It was all china and linen, and you have a waitress or waiter wait on you. It was gorgeous. They also had a two-bedroom apartment that was reserved for guests that you could use if you want to visit your parents.

Very nice lobby/dining area
with tablecloths.
Open feeling. Toured the apt. rooms available
and very nice.
Staff friendly.
Entrance way was
a bit dark with
dark green/wine red
color scheme but
felt very private
which I liked.

This is a well-run, beautiful facility. Staff members are attentive, caring and friendly. Health care providers come on-site, so there are no transportation costs for routine care visits. Structured activities in Memory Care are excellent. Communication is prompt. Pricing structure 'reasonable' compared to another facility we had experience with that charged considerably more and provided considerably less care and service in a far more oppressive environment.
