About This Community
Our staff and residents enjoy a sense of community that revolves around our mission. We are a non-profit, faith-based organization. We encourage you to compare our services to any, and all other retirement locations including profit organizations. Please consider that once a new resident is welcomed into The Village of Westland, they become part of an extended family.
As a “life plan community,” we offer residences and services to meet our residents’ needs as they change and expand. On our 23-acre campus, we feature a variety of independent living floor plans, as well as the full range of care options including enhanced living, assisted living, memory care and respite services.
Our attentive, caring staff provide chef-prepared meals in a community dining room; transportation to local stores and doctor appointments; entertainment outings; wellness classes in a state-of-the-art exercise facility; and an on-site social worker to assist with health care benefits and other aspects of daily life.

When I visited The Village of Westland, there were activities going on, and there's a lot of people. The meals were good. It was clean. I looked at a one-bedroom apartment, and I really enjoyed how it looked out. It had a patio off to the back. The people were very nice and friendly. They had a room for you to work out in. I know a few people that live there, and they said the food was pretty good. The staff was very good. They got activities, they got a shuttle, they had a rabbit, and they had fresh cookies on the counter. It's really nice. They had PACE, which was their own insurance company, which I liked, but my mom wouldn't like going there three days a week, and so I canceled that and now the cost is back up to $2,197. What's really nice about it is it's really big. You can go from living by yourself, and then they can move you to assisted, and then when that gets bad, they move you right to memory. You don't have to look for anything else. It's all right there.

Mother moved into the Village of Westland last July, and she seems to be loving it. The apartment is very big, and they helped her put up pictures and stuff. My mom enjoyed the meals. The staff do activities with the residents, who get reward points for doing activities. They go twice a day to check the residents and make sure they're eating. They accept pets. They have a Life Alert included in the package.

I thought Village of Westland was just average. The staff was kind. I saw the dining room, and it was good. I have a friend of a friend who moved out there. My grandmother needed a little more help with medication distribution, so that was really the deciding factor and that’s why we went somewhere else.

Village of Westland has good care from independent living to assisted living. From what we saw, I really liked the staff. I don't think they had a pool, but there was a gym and a community center in walking distance that had a pool. It didn't have what we needed.

My friend is in Westland Village. The residents get their own apartments, and they have a kitchen, living room, bedroom, and own bathroom, and they have a big dining hall. They also have a recreational hall and a little general store. They check on them every morning and make sure they get out of bed, and all that. She has been there for three or four years already, and she loves it. She also enjoys the food, so everything is good. They get the menu before and circle what they want. They get multiple choices of multiple foods, and she is on the lunch and dinner plan, so she picks what she wants. Then, they have an a la carte section too, where they can just go up and pick out a sandwich or whatever. The apartments are very nice, and they clean them once or twice a week. They do Bingo and movies, and they have music, actors coming in, bus trips, and people going to the store all the time, and then they have Wii and exercises; they have a lot to do. And, they have a nice laundry room. Everything is nice.

I have visited the Villages of Westland, and it's really a nice facility, but we couldn’t afford it. The staff were nice. Actually, everything was nice.
