We went to The Oaks at Woodfield. They weren't able to give a full tour due to COVID, but I kind of walked the grounds. It's really clean, and my mom really looked comfortable. She was there for about 10 to 12 days for respite. They had window visits, and they put numbers on the window for you to know where your resident was located. The room was really clean. I saw nothing out of place, the slightest thing on the floor, or anything. I didn't have any unpleasant interaction with the staff. The courtyards looked nice. They had phones in the room, so when you go to do the window visit, if that person can do the phone, they have you call inside and hand that person the phone. I don't know if every room has this, but she had the biggest La-Z-Boy where they were putting her in. Communication was good. They sent a newsletter daily, letting you know what was going on there.

When my mother was there I felt the staff did not care for her the way they should have ! One day they called my sister telling her my mom fell out of her bed when I came up to see my mother I couldn’t even recognize her her face was horrible from all the bruises they never even took her to the hospital to find out if she had any internal damages to her head . Some of the care nurse have big time attitude I definitely do not recommend this place if you actually care about your parents!

The Oaks at Woodfield was pretty expensive. In the memory section, they had a patient-staff ratio of 3:13, which I thought was very good. From a safety point of view, it was excellent, well lit, with handrails and grab bars, all that good stuff, and they have an area outside which is an inner court where residents can garden when the weather allows them. Things smell good. The people seemed well groomed. The rooms are nicely set up. They have shadow boxes at the doors with memory jogging things, pictures, and favorite activities, and people that are important to you so that if you can't read your name on the door anymore, you'll recognize things that you love. They serve food family style and once a month your family is welcome to come and have brunch with you. My husband has actually attended daycare there a couple of times. For some people, it would be nice.

The rooms at The Oaks at Woodfield were very spacious and had all kinds of stuff, like a bathroom. The staff was very helpful. They had bingo and ice cream socials. They had a TV room, a pool room, an activities room, and an exercise room.

I am Currently here for short term rehab for intractable back pain. I was discharged from thd hospital at 5pm and the Oaks was ill prepared for my transfer. Ive been here almost 12 houfs and still no medications available for my IV antibiotics and pain management as their pharmacy is in grand rapids and not readily available. Ive not seen a dr yet and pain management is non existant so far. If I had come from surgery for a hip or knee replacement I would be very wary as the urgency for comfort measures to help prevent relapse back into pain cycle is nonexistant. I am also on IV antibiotics for a blood infection and am now nearly 3 doses behind in the hours that Ive been here. Would not recommend so far. As an. RN for 25+ years I find lack of treatment thus far unacceptable .

I visited the Oaks, and my dad did his rehab there. I thought the rooms were very nice, clean, and spacious, and they looked like mini apartments. A lot of young people worked there. The food was OK; it wasn't bad, and the dining area was set up nice. They had Wii, Bingo, and Karaoke. They could improve on the smell.

We put my husband into the Oaks for physical therapy to gain his strength back but he is not cooperating very well. He is not comfortable other than being at home. But he has to be there because he developed a blood infection when he was in Genesis. They hadn’t tracked down the source of it at the time. He was in there for 5 days. We moved him over to the Oaks with ports in his arms so they could administer antibiotics through the veins. He has had that done every day since he has been there. The food was excellent. I usually had lunch with him and the food was very good. It’s very clean and my husband’s room is sufficient. He is in a private room by himself and it has a bathroom with a shower. It’s got everything he need. The physical therapy is excellent and they have a great staff. They work with the patients. Nothing negative.

I went for a tour of The Oaks at Woodfield and thought it very good. I would highly rate them. The staff was very good, and I didn’t have any complaints about the staff at all, but the rooms were not as nice as the room she has now. There was furniture in there that looked like motel furniture rather than something you would put in your own bedroom. They have different activities for the residents, like Wii bowling and storytelling. Some of the residents I saw were playing billiards. There was a nice sunroom there, and the dining room had white linens. Overall, it was a very nice facility.

The Oaks is very nice, but it is bigger than what I wanted. Also, it is a little bit more expensive. The rooms are nice. It has the same things like a bedroom, a bathroom, and a window. It wasn't that there is anything wrong with it. It was just too big for my dad. He is kind of shy, and he doesn't do well in situations with lots of people. So I prefer a smaller and homier environment. It was very clean. It was well kept and classy. It is like a nice apartment building. Everyone seemed very friendly, although I didn't spend a lot of time there. It just wasn't what I was looking for.
