I felt like Serene Gardens of Grand Blanc would have given dad more care than what I was finding at the other facility. It was really clean. It had been recently updated and the staff had been with the people that own it for many years, which I thought was a plus. I think it was the owner of the place who gave me the tour and that person was nice. The rooms were small, but they tried to get the residents to all come out of the rooms into the great room or do activities where they could be together and socialize.

Each time I called, Addington staff were friendly and knowledgeable. They always took the time to take my questions on how my father, who was in hospice, was doing at that particular moment. This was incredibly valuable as I live 50 miles aways and couldn't be there everyday.

The rooms are small and dark, the whole place reeks of urine all the time, the staff doesn't respond timely to the call buttons.
The food was horrible and inadequate, and patients frequently couldnt get coffee in the mornings, meds were distributed late, and patients waited long periods of time for assistance.
When issues are raised, staff doesnt respond with changes.

I'm very pleased with the updates over the past 6-8 months. The parking lot definitely needed to be replaced. The landscaping was very nice this past summer. Robin has done excellent as the director and hiring good staff, (which was needed). Everyone has been wonderful to my mother...Thank You!

I toured this facility for possible placement for my father. Although his situation did not ultimately result to him moving to this community, it was my top choice. I appreciated the staffs knowledge and support. They were a resource for me and I would recommend them!

Lifehouse Retirement was pretty nice but the price was way off. It was more than what we could pay as my mother didn't have so much money. The people were really nice, everybody was courteous, and the place was clean. They had all sorts of activities but it was out of Mom's reach. She couldn't pay that much.
