My mom was in Vista Springs Riverside Gardens, they seem to have friendly staff. It's an old elementary school, so it has lots of long hallways, but nice entry windows on each unit. They have decent-sized, good-sized units. They work hard towards engaging her, they would go looking for my mom to go here and there most of the day. They have daily activities like bingo, happy hour, and exercise class. My mom says the food is good, not great, but it's good. At times, they don't get to my mom quick enough and that's probably the biggest one I'd like them to improve.

My father is currently in Vista Springs Riverside Garden. They're doing a great job. They seemed to be caring and patient. They have weekly men's club meetings. They go on field trips. They have a bus, and they take them to different places to do different things. For the ladies, they have sewing and things like that.

I was unhappy in the way we were treated when we had to relocate to a memory care unit. We had a small pet and paid an extra fee for her. She at no time made any kind of mess and had no "doggy" odor. But after moving out my "refundable" pet fee was denied. The excuse was that the dog damaged the carpet and left a strong odor. This is and was untrue. Also i was denied a partial refund of rent since I failed to give a two week notice before leaving, my wife was moved to another V.S. facility at the request of management. Also my letters to corporate were never answered.

We have had mom here, and cannot say enough good things about our experience at Vista Riverside.
Staff is amazing, friendly, helpful, and very well trained in my opinion. (Former nurse with long term care experience here.) Choice of doctors specializing in elder care who come to you - including blood work.
Laundry just needs initials, and is done with a smile and a "how are you today?"
Rooms are spacious and up to date which are personalized by the resident. We hung drapery, artwork and shelving in mom's "studio" apartment (a front room, kitchenette, bathroom with shower and back room... huge! ) from her prior home.
The kitchenette has a single sink, stainless steel microwave (if you want one), drawers, and a small refrig with freezer. Backsplash is a nice neutral tile pattern. Neutral color walls. Some units have an electric fireplace and bookshelves in them. Carpeting is new and clean, and housekeeping is efficient and maintenance helps with a smile.
The food is very good and there is always a variety to choose from alternate options from a pub-type menu. The dining room is beautiful with a wall of windows and a two sided fireplace. Tables are a four-top or joined per resident's wishes together. Stand up table card holders shows daily menu and pub menu. You can also have meals are delivered to the room with no extra charges.
Guests can eat too, for a small fee - just inquire at the concierge desk.
Activities are creative and varied according to interest. ( Picnics, Art Fest, Meijer Gardens, Car Museum, color tour, light tour, etc...) There is always a good concert- type performance that comes to the facility as well as flower arranging, artists and pets that visit. All are optional, but well thought out.
No memory care at this facility, but other Vista properties in the area have that.
Residents wear a pendant to press when requesting assistance. ( Staff gets to know loved one and checks in on them, too.)
It is assisted care, which means showers can be refused (different rules and licence than a rest home works by, for example)... just like at one's own apartment - one has the freedom of choice of what to do.
Staff is VERY aware though, and recommendations are made to not have serious issues. There are guidelines in the month to month rental contract to adhere to.
There is a private, large spa room with a huge shower for there for those that need more assistance, as well as a jetted walk-in soaking tub.
Beauty salon on premise for a reasonable charge that is extra.
The rental rate is all- inclusive with no added care level fees. No surprises. After calling around, Vista is a great value cost-wise, in my opinion. No huge ($15,000 one other place in town required!) entry fee.
If cost becomes an issue down the line, be aware that Riverside does not accept medicaid WAIVER... but other Vista places around town do. Veterans benefits are accepted. Lots of options. Ask questions.
Highly recommended facility to consider.

She is at Vista Springs Riverside Gardens. The community is at an old school that they redid, so it's no overly large. The rooms are kind of like in a big square, so no matter where you start, you're going to end up where you started. They have large rooms, and the life engaging team is excellent. They bring in a lot of musical groups. Some are families that play together and some are older, so they have quite a bit of musical performances. They also do a lot of the usual, like play bingo and trivia. They have levels of care, and if you need extra care they provide that. Each level is a separate charge, but there's somebody to give them that care. I liked the home setting, with the rooms being like a super small home. Sometimes, there's just a large turnover, but it's been very good lately.

It's a beautiful facility. Very bright & cheery BUT that's where it stops! It a smoke screen! Care for my Mom was aweful. No shower for somewhere between 2 to 4 weeks - we are not sure? Bed unmade and she was often left to sleep in her clothes. After cleaning Mom up one morning, the aid came in to ask if everything was OK - as the alarm had been going off for an hour and they wondered why? REALLY!!!
If you loved one needs any care at all, this is not the place!
The management made all kinds of promises to us and we paid for a higher level of care but they delivered on none of it!
Glad to have my Mom out of there, for sure.

I was very impressed with Vista Springs Riverside Gardens. The lady that gave us the tour was outstanding. She was very enthusiastic and very upbeat with an incredible rapport with the residents. It gave us a good sense that it was a truly caring community. It appealed to my sense of repurposing buildings that would otherwise be torn down because the building used to be a school. The wide hallways were so welcoming and light-filled. It just had such a vibrant feel to it, and it was a big community.

We have lived here about one year, Service is average, but staff turn over is too high. Food quality is very poor and often inedible. Top management is helpful and some staff members are outstanding. Activities are well planned.and varied. Costs tend be on the high side

Vista Springs was very nice, but for us, it was too expensive. It was very quiet and very nice. The staff was fine and gave us a tour.

Vista Springs, from 1 to 5, is a 5. It had very friendly staff. We showed up unannounced and one of the staff members took time off to give us a tour of the facility and walked us around it. We interviewed two of the residents and spent some time, then she walked away to take care of some work, and she let us talk to the residents and her family to get impressions from them. It’s a new facility that opened up in January of this year. They just had their official ribbon cutting this week, so it’s brand new and at about 50 percent capacity right now. The staff’s level is where it needs to be, and they’re getting good service. Any time the folks have any questions or if we have any questions, many times they’ve been prompt in answering. We’re very pleased with our interaction.
