We visited a friend at Villa Maria Retirement Community in Grand Rapids. It's in their independent living and the atmosphere was good. It was all nice but too confining for me. It's an older building and I needed something more open. I couldn't live there because I needed more windows and since it's older, it didn't have that. Everybody seemed nice though and the staff was nice. We know some people that live there that's why we went to visit.
They invited us to come back to try the food. They had very nice activities. They have bingo, and all kinds of places to sew and play cards. It's a very active community.
Some of the facilities were just old and we didn't like their elevators because they were too crowded and small.
I guess it's good for the money because it's one of the cheaper facilities that we know of.

I've moved into Villa Maria Retirement Community. It's a very friendly community, and it has a lot to offer. They have a good activity director. I can't say enough about it. The staff is very personable. They take care of all of our needs. The meals are very good. They have everything you can imagine. You can either participate or not participate. They encourage us to interact. I'm in a two-bedroom, and it's very spacious and well maintained. We have a library and a community room, where we do exercises. I'm very happy to be here.

My mother is happy at Villa Maria right now. It's independent living. They have a bus, activities, movies, and games. Almost everything is good. They do a free breakfast, and she loves that. Most of the staff are helpful. There's a library and a sunroom.

My experience with Villa Maria was good. The environment was very nice. I liked it. The staff was very nice and very knowledgeable. The dining setup was very nice. They have outings, cards, exercising, and places for art lessons. I'm considering it because I liked their location and I keep going back there.

Villa Maria is an affordable, Catholic-run facility. The community is pleasant and has the same type of amenities as every other place for about $700 less. The food was very satisfactory. They had a health care service superior to other facilities. Some of the community areas where people live could be a little more updated. I’ve gone to many places, and the only one I was interestedwas Villa Maria, and I really wanted my dad to get in there.

Villa Maria Retirement Community was an excellent community. My visit there was wonderful and the staff was friendly. The people working there obviously loved what they do. I think that the rooms were very nice and of very good sizes. The dining room was beautiful as well. We were unable to engage ourselves with any activities but I know they had a lot of them. It was also a very secure place that they even needed to have a key card to get in and out. However, it would be great if they could serve breakfast to their clients.

The rooms are rather small for a couple, but, other than that, Villa Maria is nice. There isn't really anything that stood out or that I really liked. It is clean and well-kept.

My parents will be moving at Villa Maria later in the year. We were aware with this facility because my aunt was there several years ago and we knew she received pretty good care. This place is also affordable. They had a choice between one or two room and they chose a two-bedroom apartment. We had minimal experience with them, but so far so good.
