Sheldon Meadows took very good care of my grandma. She was cared for and loved by many of the staff. There is no place like home but when you are faced with an awful disease like dementia there are sometimes no other options. My grandma loved the food and the staff the most. Pricing can be on the high end of assisted living but from the experience that I have had with assisted living I feel like you pay for what you get. Would recommend with no reservations.

Our experience with Sheldon Meadows has been very good. The only downside to the whole thing is that it's too expensive, that's what made us decide to move my mom. Otherwise, the staff has been wonderful and her care has been good. They also have different activities for the residents, like during the holidays they do different things, and they also have church services. Her room has her own private bath and a bay window looking out into the courtyard. Other than assisted living, they also have Alzheimer's care.

As you enter the Sheldon Meadows facility, you are greeted warmly by a receptionist, nurse, or other worker. Immediately they ask, "May we help you find someone?" The help in this facility is unusually friendly and helpful. The friend I have who resides there is constantly complimenting their tender care for her: polishing her nails, making her bed, saving her dessert when she has to leave the meal early, and the many activities they furnish for their residents.
At first, my friend was hesitant about leaving her home to live at Sheldon Meadows--now she doesn't want to leave it! Even though she may be capable of taking care of herself now that her health has improved, she has no desire to return home. She mentions, "I have so much to do here and at home, I would be very lonesome again." Her children, too, are anxious for her to remain in a safe facility where she is happy. They visit her often and seem very pleased with the care their mother is given.

We were delighted to visit the Sheldon Meadows Living Center while in the Michigan vicinity "“ looking at assisted living facility options for my friend's mother.
Our tour of the outside grounds was lovely; there were flowers and shrubs everywhere, with nice seating areas.
The staff was very friendly and all seemed to really like their jobs. The main living areas were fresh, clean and sunny with a contemporary, yet home-like décor. There were plenty of lovely seating areas with large windows that let in a lot of light.
The variety of activities included many social events and gatherings which everyone is encouraged to enjoy. The staff goes out of its way to suggest stimulating things to do "“ from card and other games, to reading, and outings in the community.
The menus and selections looked impressive, with options for every dietary need and desire.
The rooms we viewed were all very clean, well-kept and inviting "“ kind of resembling what you might find at a hotel that rents out small apartments "“ but more personal.
The exercise space was well equipped and they offer exercise classes regularly.
We especially liked that they do not require a long term commitment "“ since we are unsure about my friend's mother's needs at this point. This kind of flexibility is important, and many facilities require a lease to secure a spot. Also, this would give her a chance to try it out to see how it works for her. This made my friend feel good about putting Sheldon
Meadows Living Center at the top of his list.
Overall, the facility really looked like a place my friend's mother would like to live and where she would be well cared for.
