My brother was admitted to Christian Park Village with advanced stage 4 stomach cancer. He was in Christian Park Village for about 2 weeks before he passed away. I cannot say enough good things about the care he received. The staff members were helpful, caring, kind and compassionate, and went out of their way to accommodate any need my brother had or even that all of us siblings who gathered to say our last goodbyes to him had. If you were to ask me to give you a definition for excellent care, I would say, “Christian Park Village.”

My mom liked her room very much, she was in with another resident who was on PT and was very pleasant. The nursing staff was very pleasant and helpful. Mom loved her PT staff and helped her very much. My mom is not very social but everyone made her feel comfortable. She had no appetite so didn't eat much of the food but everyone offered different options to make sure she was getting the nutrition she needed. Visiting was made easy and very comforting.

From the Nurses to the CNAs, everyone is committed to making the residents feel safe and cared for. The therapy staff are knowledgeable and look for ways to keep you focused and making progress. The housekeeping staff keep the place clean and tidy. The Activities staff find great things for the residents to do. And the dietary staff cook very tasty meals and work with you to meet your dietary needs. Everyone here really makes you feel cared for and that you matter! Thank you to all the great staff who have worked with me to get my strength and endurance back so I can return home. I would not be where I am without your care, understanding and encouragement! You guys are the best!

Our mother had recently been transferred to Christian Park from Marquette Gen for rehab after a recent stay. My siblings and I do not live in Mi., which has made this stay difficult. Since this was our first experience in this process, the paperwork and questions can be quite daunting. Jana is a GEM! Bless her heart, she's had to converse with myself and both my siblings on top of my mother. She has been diligent, informational, caring, and has such a warm compassion for her job, she has made this difficult time so much easier. I do not wish to leave anyone out, so I will add that the entire care staff have been very good as well, they have treated my mother with care, respect and compassion and we've been very pleased with her care. I can only imagine how difficult their jobs are, and to not show it is truly commendable.

Both of my grandmothers were living at this facility at the same time along with various other relatives for shorter periods. The rooms were typical hospital style; two beds, one bathroom, divider curtain, hospital beds etc. Cable TV, in room telephones and air conditioners were provided, along with institutional furniture. Residents were allowed to have their own chairs if they wished. The staff seemed very friendly and helpful. The home has many activity and outing days to keep the residents busiy and social. The food was nothing spectacular, but appetizing enough and never in short supply. Although nobody ever wants to go to a nursing home I would not have a problem staying at Christian Park as opposed to any other nursing homes in the Escanaba area. The close proximity to a clinic and the hospital also make this home a good choice for elderly people with medical problems.
