My grandmother moved into Birchwoods at Canco Assisted Living for respite care. It is a very nice facility. They come out and serve 3 meals a day. One thing is that they don't have a menu on hand, and they don't have a whole lot of staff. She has a studio room, so she has a private bath and a bed. She has a fridge, counters, and a sink. There is a small patio in the facility. The staff is very kind and willing to work with you. I've eaten there and it was extremely good. They have a monthly calendar of activities, and they have daily activities going on.

My mother has moved into Birchwoods at Canco Assisted Living. I have nothing but positive things to say about them. It's been a wonderful experience. The facility is super clean. The people are super nice. There are lots of activities and lots of involvement of the family, and the staff is first class. It's nice. They have exercise classes every day, they have bingo a few times a week, they have a movie night, they do coloring, and they've been doing holiday activities, a holiday craft, just all kinds of different things.

We have chosen Birchwoods at Canco Assisted Living for my mom. I love this place. It's a perfect fit for her. The only problem right now is people are eating in their rooms because they've closed down the dining room due to Covid, and the activities are down too. Other than that, it couldn't be better. It's clean and fun. The staff is attentive and prompt, and I love every one of them. They've picked her up twice because she has fallen twice and they've notified me right away. They have a podiatrist coming every 3 months, a beauty salon, and a van that goes around to different places.

My mom moved into Birchwoods at Canco Assisted Living. I'm extremely impressed and happy with the service. The staff is outstanding. They are incredible. They have been such a huge help, and I cannot say enough good about the staff there. They're friendly, nice, and know what to do even before we know what she needs. They're there doing it.
They're incredible. They get her meals every day. They manage her medication. A couple of times, we've been concerned about her physical health, like when she had a urinary tract infection. I called because I could tell on the phone something was wrong. They were in her room in two minutes, and they had it diagnosed. The CNA was on top of it.
My mother hates the food. I haven't actually seen it, but my mother thinks it's horrible. The layout is very good.

My dad is now at Birchwoods at Canco. We are happy with it. It is fairly new and my father has only been there for two weeks. We don't have a lot of experience with it, but so far everything is good. It seems to be a friendly atmosphere and they seem to be accommodating. They have a lot of musical activities which my dad likes. They listen to different musicians who come in. He has a large room. There is a section for sitting area and a section for a bed and a night table.

My husband was placed in Birchwoods at Canco, the place is excellent, and absolutely terrific. They have levels of care, he's at the least necessary at this point, but you can add levels of care as needed. And it's not a locked residence. The meals are very good, the place is pleasant and upscale, and the staff is caring. It's been a very good experience up to this point. Another thing we're thrilled about is that there are very few apartments available and he has one, at a cost level that other places change for just one room. So we're very happy with that. The activities are very good, and they have bus trips three times a week to doctors' appointments, the grocery store, and Wal-mart. And they have the usual bingo, arts, cribbage, and all those things, and they have groups come in to play the piano and what have you. The staff members are always smiling, they speak to my husband and learn their names, and in a month they learned his likes and dislikes and were joking around with him. The food is excellent, but there are odd things once in a while, like a strange combination of things. Maybe we're just not used to it.

Birchwoods was recommended through our search, and they seemed good and very modern, but they did not have the room my mother was looking for. They were very good about providing us with a list of the activities they provided.
