Our experience with The Osher Inn has been very positive. They seem to be attentive to my mother's needs. I picked it because it's local to me, and it was a continuation of her rehab, so it was the same facility. The dining area is not relevant to her right now, but the food needs improvement. They have lots of different activities, from shopping to arts and crafts to movies to everything, but my mother doesn't partake in those yet. She's been there for almost a week. They're very supportive and encouraging for her to do activities, etc.

Osher Inn at the Cedars was full when I visited, and I wanted to move in sooner. It was more expensive, but the surroundings are nice, it’s in a wooded area, and very well kept. The grounds were very nice too and clean.

We visited The Cedars (Osher Inn). It was very nice. The cleanliness and maintenance was better than average. The staff was very nice. They were accommodating, showed us rooms, and gave us a list of their activities. I know they play cards, bingo, and that sort of thing. The food at The Cedars was very good. We had lunch there. The dining looked fine. The trouble with them for us is they’re in the far side of Portland.

The facility is well cared for and clean, staff is in tune with the needs of the elderly and their ilnesses and go out of their way to make them feel loved and cared for, food is good, daily activities vary. The staff is very responsive to my requests and supports me as well because they understand the stres of family members as well. They provide different levels of care depending on the need of the individual and communicate effectively with me about my parents' needs. They also help me find solutions to issues. I highly recommend the Osher Inn. I must say it is not cheap but I feel the care my parents get is worth it. Another key factor in my decision to relocate my parents to the Osher is that they are connected (literally) to the nursing home run by the Cedars in Portland so if one of them needs to be moved, they could still get together with a minimum of trouble. In fact when Mom got out of the hospital and was put into the nursing home to help her recover, the staff of both facilities were very helpful in making sure my Father was able to spend as much time with her as he wished. They even had his meals sent to her room!
