My mother is at this facility for rehabilitation after having a stroke. I am in Georgia and she has told me what a pleasure the staff is and that they have treated her as if she was their only patient. With me being so far away, I am more at ease knowing she is well cared for. She has said the food is good also. Today is actually her birthday and she sid that so many people there have made her birthday very special. They even brought her a gift from Dunkin Donuts.. Windward Gardens' setup for assisted living is one shared room with a shared bathroom and no kitchenette. My in-laws would not want to be in one small room. It's a much smaller community than the other place we saw, but the people were very nice. The rooms were smaller and most of them were shared. There are only a few options for private rooms. I thought it's a charming place with potential. It had a bird who get a lot of attention. This community allows dogs to come and visit, which is important for my sister since she has dogs. Overall, it's a nice community for what you might need, although there's fewer choices in terms of activities. I only saw a few of the residents and many of them are in wheelchairs. They also have amenities, like a hair salon, but they don't have a medical director on-site.

We were able to choose Windward Gardens because they were the ones that had an opening at that time. I found everything really nice. It was very clean and the people are just wonderful. The rooms have very good size with a huge bathroom. They have an open kitchen for snacks 24 hours a day.
