Wilshire Estates Gracious Retirement Living was a very nice community. The one that interviewed me was very helpful, very kind, and answered all my questions. The rooms were very nice. Everything's in there. If I want to do my own cooking, I can, but they have prepared food. They provide some activities. They do some sort of painting and some ceramic activities if they want to do it themselves. I didn't meet any other staff except the receptionist and the one who's in charge of showing the community.

My mother is a resident of Wilshire Estates Gracious Retirement Living and the place is great. They have three meals a day as part of the package for living there. They have quality food, it's very clean, and the people are very helpful and willing to assist in any way possible with the seniors. The seniors all seem very relaxed and comfortable and happy. It's not cheap, it's expensive but it's meeting all the needs my mom has. My mom is involved in quite a bit of the activities, and she seems to enjoy them. They have movie nights that they do twice a week, they have their own movie theater inside the facility and they have movie gatherings. They do bingo, exercise programs where you can either do the exercises in chairs or stand, however you wanna do it. They have their own shuttle bus that takes patients to the doctors every Tuesday, they go to the food market on Fridays, and then they also go to places like Target. So they would have outings, they go to restaurants, and they have a lot more activities.

I toured Wilshire Estates Gracious Retirement Living. The pricing was a bit out of my range. It was a very clean and comfortable place. The staff was very professional and kind. I had no complaints there. They showed me independent living. I got a little taste of assisted living, too. They showed me what that would be like. They showed me around. They gave me a pie to bring home. They have a gym and a movie theater, and I enjoyed that. I got to watch a little bit of a movie.

My grandmother has just moved into Wilshire Estates Gracious Retirement Living. So far, it's great. The place was built in 2020 during the COVID, so it's brand new. It was large, and it was nice. They had all sorts of amenities that other places didn't have. There were lots of different floor plans to choose from. Price points are a lot different. I ate there over the weekends, and it was nice. They have different options for each meal. They have like a dessert cart that they bring around with about five or six different options, they have like a bakery corner so you can stop and get donut, muffin, or coffee, and they have an ice cream bar area where you can get soft serve with different topping, and that's just 24 hours a day. It is like a cruise ship on land.

We will be moving my grandmother into Wilshire Estates Gracious Retirement Living. We chose it because it offered the most services at the best price. They have a very friendly staff. I don't think we ate a full meal there, but they gave us a parting gift; it was very nice. Everything is pretty new. They have a movie theater, a fire pit, a gaming room, and a library. They have an upstairs deck area where they could go outside and maybe have some socializing. The other thing that I really like is they built the facility so that they could have businesses that cater to their residents. They do have nursing in there. Let's say some residents need to make sure that they take their medicine; they have that built in, and it's separate from them. That resident would have a contract with them for that phase. The fact that they had that foresight in their planning, I thought was really nice. They could have it on staff basically in the facility. If a resident wanted that, they could get it (in addition to Wilshire). It's there, they don't have to go out. They don't have to have someone not cleared coming into the place, especially with Covid. Wilshire is all encompassing. They go on trips. They have meals, and they provided the most services for my grandma.

The overall tour experience I had with Wilshire Estates Gracious Retirement Living was great. I got a chance to see an apartment and it was beautiful. The big turnoff was it didn't have a full kitchen, but the staff was good and everything looked fine. They are the ones who provide food for the residents so it feels like you're on a cruise ship. They even invited me to come in and take a three-day vacation, but I have no interest in that for now because I don't want to live anywhere where I have to eat somewhere else. I want to be able to cook my own food if I choose to. I like the fact that I can go downstairs if I want to, but I don't like to be forced to do that, but they had nice amenities and the location was perfect. No schools around. It's a very peaceful and beautiful location. They had a lot of different activities if you choose to participate too, so it was nice.
