Arcadia of Chester was very nice. The facility was well kept and clean. They explained to me what they do every day, the kind of things they have, the kind of little card games, and stuff like that. They have something every day. They are very well staffed. The staff was very nice and explained everything. The rooms are very clean and nice.

My brother chose Arcadia for our dad, and I'm pretty pleased so far. They help him with getting dressed, bathing, shaving, and meal preparation.

My friend has been in Arcadia Assisted Living for about 6 weeks. She seems to be happy there, and it seems to be working out very nicely. It seems clean, and they seem to be taking decent care of her. She shares a room, but it seems to be a decent place. The staff is fine. The residents all sit in a big day room in electric reclining chairs. Some of the patients have Alzheimer's, others have various disabled conditions, and they’re all quite elderly.

Having to choose a place for a family member to live their final stage of life is one of the hardest decisions to make. I researched/visited many assisted living centers in Maryland. My criteria was: high staff/resident ratio, kind and compassionate caregivers and staff, doctor/nurse available, three meals and snacks, low resident/room ratio, activities, reasonable fees and being able to visit and/or contact the facility. Arcadia met every single criterion! The caregivers, the nursing staff and the owner (Donna) are compassionate and caring! The monthly menu is awesome and the daily activities are so much fun. We are able to visit whenever we want and Donna and her staff are always just a phone call away. Arcadia is “home” and I am very aware of how blessed we are to have them taking care of Mom. Check out Arcadia’s website, their newsletter and call the owner, Donna! You will love her! Check out the pictures in the newsletter - the smiles on the residents’ faces tell the story of how truly happy they are.
