First off, let me say that the aides of PHS are better than those I’ve worked with previously. However, the coordinators and director at the home office lack professionalism and do not care about the individuals or families they serve. You never know who the aide is for the day. You can’t get the coordinators to send you a schedule, which often results in confusion on the aides side as to who is working when. It isn’t their fault that they aren’t told when to arrive or that they are working that day. My family has been hung up on and we’ve gone through three coordinators. I’ve been called names, hung up on, my emails have gone with no response for weeks. It’s unfortunate that the home office is so irresponsible and reckless. They don’t take care of their aides and that impacts the quality of care. Would not recommend unless they clean house and implement change and hire new people for the home office.

After knee replacement surgery, Simone, a PT at the agency, came to my house for the first two weeks. She was wonderful and very helpful in getting me started with PT, not to mention a delightful, upbeat personality that's welcomed post-op! On the weekend I had a question, called the agency and the nurse on duty was helpful as well. In the future, if/when I'm in need of this type of care, I'll would definitely contact Potomac Home Health Care.

We had the caregiver from Potomac Home Health Care help during the daytime on the weekend for father's bathing, dressing, personal care, and preparing meals for both my parents. They're attentive, very helpful, always staying busy with helping my parents, very thorough, and punctual.

So far we have had a good experience with the nurse, pt, and aide they sent out to care for my Dad. They have been kind, caring, and patient.

We had a very positive experience with both PHHC and PHS. Our father was very ill, requiring nursing, physical therapy and 24 hour aides. We were told in advance when the professional staff would arrive by phone and they were always prompt or notified us otherwise. The service was very good, communication with the doctors was excellent; and our family was always informed of any changes in his condition. We had tried other services prior to PHHC and found this to be better managed, competitively priced, and within the Medicare guidelines. We had one aide that did not work out, and she was quickly replaced. I work in the Heath care industry and know it is difficult to please everyone; but as for our family they did very well!

Awful service. I have been a client recentlty for a couple of months. I am continuing with another agency. The nurse never made an assessment of my physical conditions / needs. The two therapist I dealt with were technically competent but mismanaged by their organization. Management acts as if they are doing you a favor (as opposed to being paid by you to do a job), especially a woman that goes by TG. I am temporarily disabled and need to do various rehabilitation therapies at home until I am strong enough to contiunue as an outpatient. However, I believe to be much younger than their usual client AND I am extremely familiar with medical care, since as a job I am a health care provider. Because of this, I was able to understand and put a stop to what I think was a sheme to bill for much more than the service rendered. If you can, go elswhere, but especially do not trust to them a loved one that is vulnarable either because of age or disease. Based on my experience, they will take advantage of the vulnerability.

I have now had 3 experiences with Potomac Home Health, which is a part of Suburban Hospital. This agency is one of the worst home health agencies I have ever run into. Michele, who they say is a supervisor was rude, and did nothing to solve a problem starting with the nurse who came to my home to "Assess" my mother. The nurse as they call her was disoriented, confused, rude, went into my bedrooms, and closets, used my supplies without my knowledge, and wore muddy shoes into my home. She asked me to Help her with her job by holding all of her supplies at her side when in fact there was a table right by her side. The second nurse they sent who could not speak with enough for me to clearly understand hung up on me today when I said I cannot make today for your visit how about tomorrow. She said well today at 10 is when I can come. It was 9 at the time.
