I'm on a waitlist at Hampshire Village for an apartment. The people in the office were very nice. The few tenants that I saw seemed to be very nice people. It's a very nice community and very clean. Everybody seemed to be very happy there. The staff was very nice, very congenial, and helpful. They don't serve you food there. It's not an assisted living place. It's independent living. You have your own kitchen and you buy your own food and fix it yourself. They seem to have a lot of activities. I've been to the place three times and on two occasions, they were having special activities. They have a beauty shop, a laundry room, a gym, a cafe, and a nice patio at the back of the building. The room that I went into was very small that's why I didn't take it. They have larger ones, but they haven't come available yet.

I've moved into Hampshire Village. I love it. Everybody is very, very nice. They were very patient because it took a while for me to get the paperwork together. I think I've definitely made the right decision. I have very reasonable rent for a two-bedroom apartment. There will be amenities here once COVID is over. It's very well located. It's right next door almost to Leisure World, so there's a lot of shopping, doctors, and whatever is really close by. I couldn't be happier. They have a coffee shop that is closed right now. There's no regular dining here; there's no meal plan involved. The facility itself is clean and well kept up. They have a movie theater here, they have a library, and they have an exercise gym. There are many things that will be available once COVID is gone.

I chose the Hampshire Village because they have a room available, and I liked the people. They don't have a private laundry, but they have a laundry room. The room I got is small, the living room is not very big, and it's clean. They have parking, they have entertainment, and table tennis. I liked the security there.

Hampshire Village has a fitness room and fitness classes and a game room. A van would take them once a week to the to the activity location that usually involves a grocery store or the mall. They had a Father’s Day brunch and lots of activities for the people there. Hampshire Village is connected with Manna Food Center, so every month, my father-in-law gets one box of food for free, and it lasts a month. They provide transportation once a month to the grocery store. They have a barber shop, a nice big barbecue grill area and patio, a walking path, and a big kitchen or a social area. They also have a movie theater with nice big padded chairs and a library. The staff is very informative and friendly. The maintenance guy lives on the premises, so you can always get in touch with maintenance 24-hours.
