Brightview Crofton Riverwalk was a new community. It was beautifully decorated and furnished. It was like stepping into a hotel with all the modern day conveniences, fitness center, and current equipment. As you enter the memory care floor, it's nice looking with the waterfall outside the door. Leading up to it looked very nice, and the lobbies were gorgeous with a piano. I just didn't see any form of diversity at all. The rooms were huge (which was great), and they had fish tanks, but I also didn't see anything that kind of promoted curiosity and interest. The space where they would bring the rest of them together to do things was very small. The main thing for me was cost, which continues to adjust all the time and that the residents were very, very much up in age.
The person who did the tour was all business. I felt like I was literally talking to a sales rep. He couldn't give me any information in terms of what do the loved ones of the residents think about the place. He was pretty much just promoting what they offer and the pricing, and that was it. He was not, to me, really invested in the care. The dining area looked very nice, though. The facility was very modern, and their coffee was fantastic.

We've chosen Brightview Crofton Riverwalk for my father-in-law. It's new, beautiful, very clean, and at the time we went in, they've had no COVID at all in the facility. The area where he will be is secure, there's a beautiful outdoor area, and the room is nice sized. We've had food there, and it was excellent. He went with us the second time we went and he was impressed. It's just very homey, and it's not too big. The memory care unit is big enough that it's not claustrophobic, but it's small enough, I think it's a 24-room, that he won't get lost. The rooms were in a T-shape hall, and he won't have to deal with an elevator to get to his food. The staff seemed very friendly and kind.
