Joe Dig Sr.
January 01, 2019
My husband, Joe, was a resident in Tidewater for 10 months. His experience, and mine, was most helpful and loving. I could not have hoped for more. The regular staff were gentle, loving and fun. They carried out their duties with care even though they may have been stressed by a lot of hard work and their own family stresses. I was happy that the staff regularly on duty got to know Joe, his personality, and habits. They kidded with him, made him feel important, and were kind to a dementia patient that could be difficult. Not only was the staff on Tidewater kind and patient, but other supportive staff at Citizens were helpful, watchful, and willing to spend time answering questions and keeping me informed. I could find things to complain about but my focus was finding a facility that did their best to care for a loved one. Thank you, Citizens, I am forever grateful.

My uncle was a resident of Citizens for three years. We were reluctant to have someone other than family take care of our uncle. It turned out to be a good decision to select Citizens. The rooms are not fancy, but the staff were great, food was good with plenty of choices. Most of the residents were women, but Activity staff still found activities that the men enjoyed. Nice courtyard. When weather was good, we took uncle for a wheelchair walk on the boardwalk along the bay. Sidewalk leading to boardwalk came right up to the nursing home. Havre de Grace also has a lot of interesting shops and good restaurants.

This is the best nursing home in Harford County! There are activities everyday that fill the whole day up. The staff is supreme. There's a cafeteria in the nursing home that sells to families and staff. It's very nice. And the food is excellent and the prices are so cheap . The residents eat for free in the cafeteria if they choose too. There is a court yard that's beautiful. Residents get to plant flowers and walk around in it. They get to go watch the fire works right on the boardwalk. They really do a lot for the residents and I can tell they really care. They are extremely nice and very professional. They have the best dementia unit. They have six units and all the nurses are nice. They keep everything stocked. There's a gift shop in the nursing home. Bomboys is right next to it and families are allow to walk there. There is a pharmacy that families can use in the back. It's a smoke free facility. It's safe and your mother or father will be taken care of.
