Some staff are unprofessional and speak nasty to individuals, transfer calls to extensions that don’t exist and the calls just keep ringing until they are redirected to the front desk, don’t communicate to patients, put him on chopped up food and he feeds himself, the speech therapist determines the diets of the patients, the dietitian monitor’s nutrition. They left my nephews feeding tube in almost 4 months after it was to be removed. It was removed about two weeks after continuous calls and the tube starting to cause him pain. I had to report staff to the Assistant Administrator. When I did they retaliated and we could not contact him for two days. My nephew fell out of the bed and he can not use his left side. When I inquired about the fall I was told he was not hurt. I asked how did he fall? The question was and still is how did he fall? We tried for months to get him transferred from MD to DE. We were so scared they would hurt him and there was nothing we could do. He had a stroke was in Wilmington and ended up in Chestertown MD without consent. He was born and raised in DE. When we did get him transferred to Delaware they said they didn’t have a wheel chair to bring him to the car and they did not send his medications with him. They waited for his release for 45 mins and were called the morning before to confirm times of his arrival to DE. I reported a couple of staff members on Friday and they retaliated on Saturday. The report was because a nurse was hurting him badly when doing Physical therapy one particular nurse nicknamed Money. She kept saying to him heard you are leaving and tugged and pulled on his leg causing him a lot of pain. He had a voice and could tell use we had to speak for him. For those who have loved ones there get them out as soon as you can, they intimidate some patients and they are scared to speak. That place is not fit for anyone to be, especially the elderly and those who can not communicate.
