My aunt was at Williamsport Nursing Home for rehab. It was a first-class place, but as far as long-term nursing, it might be a little bit too expensive. My aunt was there for two weeks. I think the staff and their services were excellent. She was satisfied with the food. She was very picky about it, but the place was very nice. The dining area was very good. The wing that she was in was a rehab wing. There was a common bathroom.

The staff is polite and refers to many of the residents as "grandma." On holidays I've seen employees who did not have to be at the facility, show up to be with the residents. I've heard them say that the residents are extended family for them. The amenities are nice, clean and well taken care of. The food is good. The nurses and staff are polite and friendly. Residents are talked to respectfully and volunteers are educated to also respect the resident's privacy. The volunteer program is a good one, volunteers are appreciated and a banquet is given for them yearly. With their assistance, the facility offers special events at every holiday and on weekends. Holidays involve volunteers singing, giving out snacks and presents, as well as spending time with the residents. Special activities on regular weekends may include from singers (individual and choir), movie marathons, craft activities, ice cream socials and dog visits. Residents are encouraged to be as active as possible.

My maternal grandfather who just passed away last fall was a resident of VMP Milwaukee, moving from the assisted living wing, to the nursing home end of the facility over the course of three years. The staff was exceptionally friendly, and genuinely seems to care about their residents. To the point they are not only very personable and engaging with the residents, but to the point they recognize the family members and visitors who are there on a regular basis, even when the resident is not present to give them a reminder. I was not there quite as often as my parents were, but some of the staff even remembered me on sight and would inquire about my children etc. which I found to be quite surprising whenever I was coming by to pick my grandfather up for a family function, or was dropping him off. The assisted/nursing end of VMP is a bit older (former Methodist Manor) probably dating back to the 1960's when it was built, but it is very clean and well kept, and I think the kindness and concern of the staff and how engaged they are with the residents more than makes up for it. The nursing staff, the aides, and various therapists who work there were all uniformly warm and friendly. My whole family, on both sides felt my grandfather was very well cared for and was given the best possible quality of life, and quality of end-of-life possible while he was there. We would recommend the Milwaukee VMP to anyone looking for assisted or nursing home care.

My family and I have been volunteering at the Williamsport Retirement Village for over a year. The staff at this facility are the best I have every encountered in any assisted living or retirement home that I have ever visited. The volunteer coordinator is very ambitious and genuinely cares about all of the residents there. We have been invited to eat there quite a few times and the food is as good as most restaurants that we frequent. The layout of all the buildings presents a warm environment that even we enjoy as visitors with televisions in every room, beautiful screen porches and sunrooms, lounge areas with big screen televisions, CD players and even WII game consoles. We have become acquainted with all of the caregivers at both the assisted living and nursing facilities and it is very evident that all of these people treat all of the residents with genuine love and respect. There are also plenty of activities for residents such as Bingo nights, dominoes and frequent trips to restaurants and shopping.
