Althea Woodland Nursing Home was in a private neighborhood. It was like in a quiet residential area at the end of the street, had a lot of trees, which looked like a park, and it's very nice and very modest inside. It was not fancy, but they have a low staff-patient ratio, which was good.
The administrator we talked to seemed to be very caring, personable and was so easy to approach. It was a smaller place, so I think it felt more individualized. I saw their physical therapy and residents doing activities. They have two beds in a room there, so it's shared. It seemed like a decent, calm, and relaxed environment.

My sister has been in Althea Woodland for a month now. It is smaller and we kind of like the atmosphere. The facility looks good and the staff is very friendly. She's participated in some activities, like making pizza, but so far, that's the only activity I knew since she's only been there for a month.

I'm very happy at Althea Woodland. My handicap is too extensive for assisted living, so I would need the skilled nursing facility that will take care of me. The staff is excellent, very attentive to my needs, and they don't get upset about anything. It's a nice facility. It's small, 50 beds, but it's wonderful, and this was the best move I could've made. The food is excellent. Right now, I'm in quarantine, so I'm not really familiar with what they do, but their activities department seems pretty busy. They've been by to see me and talk to me about activities.
