There were several missteps my first week. They had me share a room with a patient who was recovering from a collapsed lung he had COVID, pneumonia, and was on oxygen & a nebulizer. He crashed by the end of the week. I'm currently recovery from a broken ankle and surgery to fix it. I was sent to the hospital twice to make sure I didn't have a blood clot in my lungs. My first occupational therapist was ok but he kept kicking my leg from under to keep me from putting pressure on it. I was afraid I might fall. I returned with the promise of a private room and they would do better. The room has a draft but clean and the service has been better. They have a new director and seem to be taking steps to improve. This is my second time the first time I couldn't walk. I was here while 2 other family members were residents.

I honestly don't want to give this facility any ratings. My mother is a resident there now the way she is being treated it's unexplainable we have made several complaints and the problem seems to keep getting worse these nurses seem to have no parents have their own or no respect for elders knowing one day they maybe in the same situation. My mother had surgery almost 2 weeks ago last night she was running a fever of 102 had sugar levels we're also elevated it took my father and my sister to go to the facility in person and demand them to call 911 at one point my sister was asked if she understand English the disrespect and the lack of concern for the elders is embarrassing and I am amazed that no one is trying to fix these problems

This location is someplace I will not send my enemy. While the rehab aspect is well deserving of praise, these nursing staff Assistant and Medical professionals are abysmal in their care of patients. My mother was only there two weeks before she had was sent back to the hospital because she was extremely dehydrated And had a blood infection.
The doctors don’t come, and when they do come is for no more than five minutes three times a week. There is no real diagnosis there’s no talking to the patients, no talking to the caregivers
Absolutely not enough staff, especially at night. Many of the CNA‘s and GNA‘s Don’t follow hygiene protocol in keeping patients clean. There are no words to express how much I hate this place.
They only want to stay because they know that Medicare pays

Ms Johnetta was they only bright spot in my brief time there.
The room was dinky and old. Some of the staff was adequate but many were sub par. The food was horrible!!!!!

I stayed at the facility for a short time but in my short time I started Physical therapy and I gained the ability to walk and get back to my day to day life after surgery. The staff are very friendly and pleasant and made my stay very enjoyable. The Physical therapy team is amazing they really get you back on your feet. I would recommend this facility to anyone in need of a rehab facility. A big thank you to all the staff.

My mom came into the vent unit after her stroke. That unit was good after I had to have a few conversations with the unit manager which is no longer there. She was weened off the vent and her trach was removed. They had to moved her to 1 south due to her no longer being on the vent. That unit is terrible they are always short staff and it’s only a few GNAs and nursing that genuinely care. I worked hard to bring my mom home and it finally happened. Think twice before sending your loved ones to this location.

When hiring staff. Make sure that they are dedicated to doing so and not just a paycheck. Treat people with respect as if it where your loved one .supetvisor need not sit on their behinds make sure employees are doing their jobs. There are some that really like their jobs but others need to be shown the door.

My mom received very good care at Future Care Irvington. It was far from our home, but we were placed there because she required a place that had dialysis and also dealt with dementia care. The nursing staff was very kind. All of the people that interacted with Mom and with us, while overworked just like in every place like this, were always polite and always kind. I never felt that Mom was ignored. They were usually popping in and checking in on her and I felt she got very good care. They had a calendar of activities and several times my mom was brought down to participate. They had Bingo and they had a couple of parties while we were there. They always tried to include her even when she didn't want to be included. She was quite resistant to interacting with anyone, but they knew she needed to.
